We stayed for two nights in early November and it was beyond expectations. Our room was clean, warm and comfortable and the perfect place to retire after a day out walking. The location was superb and was a quick ferry ride to Skye. Special thanks to our host Alex who was outstanding! Would definitely return!

Arisaig house was the best surprise of our Scottish vacation. This is a beautiful manor house with lots to see and do. The common areas are large and spacious and we enjoyed our time resting and relaxing in front of the many fireplaces. The house is filled with little pieces of treasure and our son had a great time playing...

A stay at Arisaig House, does feel like being a guest in a traditional family-run stately home. Very welcoming on arrival, extremely spacious and comfortable bedroom (very comfortable bed), and lovely bar, sitting room and dining room. Don't expect modern plumbing, because this is a historic house. Similarly dinner was delicious, but a set menu as you might expect as...

I highly recommend this hotel. We stayed for 2 nights with our young son and used it as a base to explore Morar, Arisaig and Mallaig. It has a relaxed informal atmosphere yet felt luxurious and intimate. Staff were great and the place is very cosy with open fire in bar and stove in the snug. We ate out in...

Quite wonderful. This is how a country house hotel should be run. Just the right amount of formality in its surroundings and informality in its friendly and welcoming service. The surroundings are spectacular, the road to the isles is breathtaking and the silver sand beaches are other worldly. A real experience.

This is a wonderful property: the classic country house with endless rooms, tennis courts, croquet etc. Our room overlooking the sea – possibly the best – was spacious with an excellent bathroom. However, the whole property needs refurbishment as the walls and paintwork are peeling. Major investment is required, as is the case with many large Scottish properties, but of...

Arisaig House is not in Arisaig. This is important to know if you don't have your own transport. It's approximately a 5km walk from the village as we found out ourselves. Sarah is an excellent hostess with a laid back style that makes her guests feel welcome and relaxed. Our room was spacious and the house, more like a mansion,...

Husband and I stayed for a night with our dog on holiday in Scotland, which also happened to fall on our 1 year wedding anniversary. The hotel is lovely, the grounds are amazing and the view over the bay is stunning. It's also quite secluded so is good for a quiet weekend away. However, this hotel does lack many of...

We spent a night here en route from the outer Hebrides back to the south of England. It had been recommended by a friend. We have nothing but positive comments. The boss apparently was away for the weekend and her son Alex was in charge. He did a fantastic job of making us feel welcome despite having a very busy...

We held an afternoon event here, and some of the guests stayed the night before. A beautiful setting, stunning house, and lovely people. We were welcomed as though it was our own house, and the food was excellent. Currently one of the best places in Scotland.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Arisaig House is a luxurious but homely guest house offering freshly prepared seasonal meals, picnic lunches, homemade treats and the chance to really put your feet up! Set within 19 acres of landscaped gardens and woodland A typical bedroom will have its share of views: the rose garden, the woodland garden beyond, and to the sea and maybe an island or two. The wonderful light is a constantly changing backdrop with the chance of a finale of a full west coast sunset blazing and gradually fading. Peace and comfort pervade. Our kitchen is supported by its own seasonal garden produce and a positive galaxy of local specialities: Seafood - lobster, scallops, crabs, local fresh salmon, smoked salmon and oysters - in demand worldwide but fresh on our doorstep; venison, game and hill lamb in their season. There's really no shortage of food pleasures at any time of year. Picnic lunches are another speciality, with all that walking country out there and a host of things to see and do. ... more   less
