For the month of February I needed accommodation and the Ark House did exactly that. Clean linen. Decent bed. Hassle free. Shared shower and toilet. Considering what everyone else was charging this worked a treat. I was there for 6 weeks. No complaints here.

Couldn't find a separate listing for this, but the pub lunch offered was reasonable. The home made chips were good, draught beer was reasonably chilled, however the wraps themselves were arguably the worst wraps I've ever seen. And I've lived with students. It was exactly one tortilla wrapped around two thin strips of chicken, with a small amount of sweet...

We were stranded in the town and just needed a place to rest our heads that evening. Our options were limited, and we found this place. It fit 4 people, and was close by. We arrived, and had to check in at the bar. The bartender was wonderful - friendly, carried my heavy bag upstairs (3 flights!) , and arranged...

Very satisfactory given what I wanted. Needed to stay in Stranraer overnight and this place made it relaxed and comfortable. Nice and cheap. Room was pretty good. Not really any noise when I was there. The place made me feel pleasant. The guy who checked me in and showed me to the room was friendly. The TV didn't have a...

Cheap; tea, coffe and TV in room; seperate shower and toilet shared with other rooms. Good enough accomodation at the price Not great for motorcyclists as parking is either on street or insecure yard. If you're catching the ferry to Northern Ireland, get something in Cairnryan.

Paid upfront for a family room night before Xmas eve ferry, room was dirty, left over towels and coffee sachets from previous guests & TV was not working. Bathroom was shared with other guests (and pub clientele able to make their way upstairs as resident door was not secure!), toilet and shower were very dirty & disgusting. Free car parking...

I can't believe there are places like this! I thought I had gone back in time to slums. 1 shared toilet (not working) & 1 shared shower/bathroom to every 5 rooms. Loud music from the pub below, loud shouting from outside on the street. The mattress was uncomfortable, I actually started searching for somewhere else to stay at 11pm. Oh...

I stay in a lot of bed and breakfasts with work and weekends away fishing and though some are very basic they serve their purpose and never have I felt the need to complain. However last week 3 of us stayed here ,only for one night thankfully and honestly it is an absolute disgrace. Yes we had read the poor...

Im a work man and I stay in hotels an b&b all the time and thought some places were rough until I seen this place it was so rough I slept in my cloths ontop of the bed the whole place is dirty and distroyed. The only thing is the staff are amazing the bar man rang his friend to...

Nothing special. Very dated and in need of TLC; crumbling plaster, cracks, etc. Wouldn't take a shower there unless I wore my crocs, but the bedding was clean and comfy. I guess the price reflects what you get (£40 for double room for 2). Was only using as a place to put my head down whilst grabbing Scotlands Most Southerly...
