Lovely room nice big bathroom and balcony with lounge area. Got a great sleep in the comfy bed. When we didnt appear for breakfast in the morning they called the room and sent it up. Great service thoroughly enjoyed our stay although it was short.

was on rail pass and stayed one night at the castle hotel. why was it so memorable? 1. arrived at night on train with the stranrae RR station being on the end of the ferry pier - walk off the pier and the hotel is right in front of you! really neat not to have to wander about at night...

I stayed in your Hotel and will recommend it to everyone. Super check-in, all staff very friendly and helpful. The rooms spacious and clean. The curling hall perfect. The food selection was very large. The bar with all the drinks the heart desires. Especially the barkeeper Richard fulfilled our wishes to my full satisfaction. Top!!! All in all an enjoyable...

I stayed here for one night for business and it was like going back in time but I think it's a good thing and it gives the hotel it's character, it reminds me of the film 'The Shinning' the old decor and family pictures on the walls from the 70/80's I've seen a few reviews about updating the place but...

This is a grand old hotel and I can see why previous reviews have mentioned it is dated. It is not a hotel with modern furnishings, but that maintains its charm. The rooms are a good size and were clean with all amenities. What made this experience different was the curling rink inside the hotel and we were lucky enough...

This hotel is excellent value for money. The meals are very good quality and the portions were plentiful. Stranraer itself is a nice town and there are plenty of places to visit in the area. Excellent for families and couples alike.

We couldn't resist a long-weekend dinner, bed & breakfast deal here, mainly because it was so reasonable. When we arrived Mr McMillan himself was there to make sure we knew where to go. He kindly offered us some help with our bags, which we declined, as our two boys are more than capable. First impressions are of a hotel defiantly...

Spent one night here prior to catching the ferry to Ireland from Cairnryan, which is only a ten minute drive away. The hotel may be a little dated here and there but it adds to the character of the place, which it has in abundance. What this hotel also has is fantastic staff, from the moment I arrived the staff...
