Enjoyed our stay here - room comfortable and looking out over the lough. Bed comfortable and room clean and warm. Food disappointing though, I had asked for my steak medium and if was if anything on the side of being overdone. Whole dining experience felt very ordinary. Would stay here again though as overall a good experience.

Superb location, Superb Food (breakfast awesome and wide choice of well cooked evening meals), Brilliant staff BUT cleanliness in public areas could be better, beds not comfy and bathroom not "mobility friendly" - central taps and no grab rails.

We stayed one night here on a tour of the area. The room was fine, the restaurant fine and the bar - well, just fine. We had no complaints but we just felt there was that last 10% missing from the hospitality and detail of the experience.

We had dinner here while on holiday in Tarbet. Having eaten here on a number of occasions previously and enjoyed it, this time was a real disappointment. Each of the last 3 times we'd eaten there had been a problem with our booking, taken by telephone, and this time it seemed the same - no cohesion or confidence in their...

The Village Inn is set beautifully on Loch Long and we were made very welcome. Room was compact but comfortable, the bed very low set with toe stubbing corners! Cleanliness was fine. We ate in the restaurant and food was fresh and tasty. The gardens are well laid out with picnic tables for a quiet drink and pleasant views across...

We were staying at the Forest Holidays site in Ardgarten on the opposite side of the Loch from the Village Inn so decided to have a meal there. We had called in for Lunch the previous day which was reasonable and tasty so booked for dinner the following night. We had perused the menu the day before and plumped for...

We originally booked for 3 nights - 6th 7th & 8th September, but we had to rearrange it for the 13th 14th & 15th. This was done by phone, and arranged by the then manager and assistant (who we later found out were no longer employed there). On arrival on 13th, we were told there was no reservation for us....

Thank you for taking the time to review us. The Village Inn is indeed an old building and most of our visitors love it's rustic charm,so I apologise that it did not meet your expectations. If you could contact me directly to discuss the room you stayed in I would appreciate it Regards Jacqui Village inn.arrochar@stonegatepubs.com

The site is excellent so is the first impression. The pub is cosy with friendly barmaids. Restaurant plain , waiters good , not experiencd , food good , nothing fancy. Drinks very good. Rooms small and basic. Good base for tours around the area.

Great location and looks splendid on the edge of the Loch. Friendly greeting on check-in and directed to our room. Then it went downhill a bit. It was smaller than we had expected and less plush than what we had seen in online photos. First impression was ok but on closer inspection it wasn't particularity clean. Apart from a dead...
