Had a great weekend! We were looking for somewhere to relax and chill out and that most definitely happened. The food was excellent and everyone was so friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble including the beautiful birthday cake made as birthday surprise. I'm sure we'll be back!

We are so glad you enjoyed your relaxing weekend. The surprise Birthday cake made by our chef Tom looked so nice you nearly didn't get it, I was tempted to sit in a corner and eat it myself. Thank you for taking the time to write a review and we look forward to seeing you on another Birthday trip! Christine

Arrived late evening in the dark and rain oblivious to what would greet us in the morning, some of the most stunning scenery I have ever seen. The owners Keith and Christine have made an art of making you feel welcome, something a lot of more expensive places could learn from. The food, from the bar menu to the restaurant use...

Thank you for taking the time to write a review, and we are very grateful for such a stunning review at that. Sometimes all the special touches, the ambience and our welcoming staff go unnoticed and it is reviews like yours that make Keith & I stand back and say, all the stress and long hours are really worth it....

Just returned from a totally chilled out weekend stay at the Royal. We were on a budget so we were happy enough to book a rear facing room.A sea facing room would have been spoiled due to the low cloud and rain obscuring the view for most of the weekend.Anyway the rotten weather was never going to spoil the ambiance created...

My wife and I spent a good break at the Royal over New Year. The Shinty bar was a lovely wee place with a roaring fire and some great beers. We had a front facing room with lovely views. Overall a very nice break.

We have stayed at Royal An Lochan 4-5 times. Including once with our dog and once with very experienced traveller friends from London. We travel extensively in Scotland and abroad and I can honestly say it is one of my favourite hotels and locations. The hotel is very comfortable, like staying at a generous friend's house. We have stayed here three times and eaten in the restaurant more often than that when in the area. Although only two hours from Glasgow this is a wonderful hidden gem tucked away from the main tourist routes. All our past guests know that we do not behave in the way you have suggested; in fact we go out of our way to make sure our guests feel comfortable and enjoy their stay....
