A complete nightmare. Do not stay here under any circumstances. Sleep under a bush instead. Not fit for human habitation. Hotel is reminiscent of a building in a war zone, including blown out windows. One person is receptionist, cook, barman and chamber-maid, notice I didn't…
We stayed here for one night and found the hotel very pleasing, the staff were very informative especially the girl who served us at the bar . We both had the vegetarian breakfast which was really good(plenty of it) Room was nice and warm and the bed very comfortable.
Great Scottish atmosphere in the hotel and very good welcome, but i could say this for every place we have stayed in Scotland. The cook is excellent.. The lamb and vegetables were so tasty that i won’t even try commenting any further.
Outside is off putting with windows, walls needing a good paint. Get rid of the old bangers in front of Hotel and dilapidated conservatory. Once inside again needing a makeover but clean and functional. Bedroom the same but spotless. Dinner for four was delicious, hot and…
We had one night at the hotel and for the price we paid, the room, the staff, the breakfast and the service overall, were great. You're going to find more upmarket places in the area but this hotel is doing a great job of looking after guests who are passing through. We loved it.
"We had to move rooms in middle of night due to strange noises, only to find new rooms with other loud noises"
"I would advise against staying here"
"If you want a good night's sleep, you need to get a room away from the road."
"Some road noise in front rooms although these have the best views - noise not a problem at the side / rear"
"Depends what you want really, but we were happy with the basic bunk room."
