The MacDonald Hotel and Cabins in Kinlochleven is at the head of Loch Leven with breathtaking views. Ideally situated for those walking the West Highland Way, along with other walks in the area. Mark and I took the hotel over on 17th January 2014 and appreciate all of the reviews on Tripadvisor, but look forward to receiving our own. We have seen the feedback on Breakfast times and this will be addressed! Thanks and we look forward to welcoming you. Helen & Mark

What a welcoming place to find when other places nearby had stopped serving lunch. We enjoyed good soup and veggie haggis, neeps & tattles with sauce - neither of us could finish our portions they were so generous (also, not a lot of variety in that mix!). Dogs welcome, lovely vi

My partner and I stayed for two nights in one if the on site cabins and we absolutely loved it! The staff at the Bothy Bar were so warm and welcoming honestly couldn't fault them one bit.
The cabin itself was clean and much warmer than we had expected for October, even with the

Located on the banks of the Loch, the hotel and cabins could not wish for a more idyllic location, from which to explore the surrounding Mamores. Visited for two nights over the September weekend, with 13 friends from our mountaineering club and our stay did not disappoint. We al

No common kitchen, not acceptable for a cabin-place like that.
Not enough showers; 2showers for 6cabins = 24people.
The cabin is way too small for four people, only perfect for two.
The whole place is not in full Nature (as the website tend to advert

Ok, here we go.....as much as we appreciate reviews on this site, it is in all fairness social media. There are three basic rules to consider when posting. 1. Is it true? 2. Is it kind? 3. Is it necessary? Nice staff and comfy bar = true and kind. No common kitchen = true, but not necessary as we state on our website that we have no kitchen facilities. 2 showers for 6 cabins = not true or necessary, we have 6 showers and 9 cabins. Cabin is way to small for 4 people = not true or necessary, this is purely speculation as only 2 people stayed on this occasion. As for the location comment this fails on all 3. Great place for backpackers and trekkers = true, kind and necessary. So, out of 6 statements in this review half of them are not true and most of them are not necessary..

How much would a 2 person stay around the weekend of the 9th January be? It's for a 60th birthday present.
Hi Stevie, The rates for Winter 2015/16 are £70 per room per night bed and breakfast for 2 people sharing. Thanks for your enquiry, Helen

Are pets allowed?
Hello Kazier, Yes, we welcome pets, dogs stay free in our cabins and there is a small charge for them to stay in the hotel rooms. They are also welcome in the Bothy Bar. Thanks Helen
