We were so lucky to have great weather, which always makes things better.. But this aside, we had a lovely break here. The surrounding area is also wonderful so much so that we are heading back up this way in a few weeks.

The hotel is stunning and first class. Food is amazing - but expensive. Beautiful location, totally tranquil and peaceful. Perfect for a lazy getaway. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. My only gripe is that their website advertised the fact that you could do archery which I wanted to organise as an optional extra for my partner. However...

This is a beautiful, rambling house in one of the most extraordinary locations of any hotel I've ever stayed in. It's all about peace, quiet, calm and indulgence. We only stayed one night and came away feeling like we'd had a proper holiday. The food and drink are both inventive and beautifully judged. It's just a beautiful place.

I’m a big fan of Ardanaiseig and have visited a number of times. Yes, it’s a tiny bit frayed around the edges in places (stair carpets, drawing room curtains), but it gives this beautiful old building even more character, if that makes sense. It’s the staff and the food that really make it for me. We’ve just returned from a...

We visited this hotel for a 2 night stay. Mark, Catherine and their team could not have been more welcoming and helpful. The restaurant was a delight with all staff impeccably trained, knowing exactly what to do. The menu was exciting and the steaks were to perfection. The rooms are all different which is to be expected of an old...

We enjoyed our stay at the Ardanaiseig Hotel. This was our 3rd visit, we like the remoteness of the place and that we can take our two dogs and go for long walks around the grounds, Loch Awe and surrounding area, returning to the Hotel in the evening for a lovely meal. We will be back again.

Perfect winter wonderland get away. We spent 2 nights at Ardanaiseig hotel in January. There had been heavy snow that weekend but the 10 mile single track road had been cleared and gritted, making access fine. The house is located by the loch which made for lovely views. We stayed in a master garden room. The room was nicely decorated...

Beautiful old victorian mansion house in a very remote and scenic location. Decor is a bit tired in places, but most would say this adds to its charm. Some waiting staff were a bit quirky/too familiar - but again, they were all part of the experience. However, all the staff were very friendly and helpful - which is the main...

Lovely setting. Hotel staff made us very welcome and were extremely helpful. Enjoyed the meal but it appeared to be same menu each night. Very good breakfast and, again, excellent service. We enjoyed our stay.

Very nice hotel in a charming country house. Could do with some more money spent on it - but these old houses can be greedy so not unusual an, overall, its condition was not an issue. Located by the loch side at the end of a very long single track road giving the impression of isolation but actually within good...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
In a quiet place of undisturbed tranquility and almost surreal natural beauty, where the slopes of Ben Cruachan fall into the clear waters of loch Awe, lies a deeply romantic and luxurious old country house called Ardanaiseig. In a 19th-century manor house on 120 acres beside Loch Awe, this luxury hotel is 21 miles from the ruined Kilchurn Castle and 22 miles from Ben Cruachan. Elegant rooms offer loch or garden views and feature antique furnishings. All rooms have free Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs with DVD players, tea and coffee making facilities, and designer Scottish toiletries. There is also a separate glass-fronted loch side Boatshed suite and a 2-bedroom cottage. An acclaimed restaurant serves upmarket, seasonal dishes. Full Scottish breakfast and afternoon tea are available, and other amenities include boat rentals, croquet and bikes. ... more   less
