We go to different parts of Scotland each Christmas and this year I thought it would be perfect to spend it in a castle. We stayed in the servants quarters and thought it was beautiful! The apartment was lovely and so spacious. There was six of us for the first three days and then just the three of us for...

Thanks for the great review Donna and we are glad you enjoyed your stay! The apartment has been a big hit since we refurbished it a couple of years ago. Plenty of extra blankets if required, and heating can be increased in colder spells!! Hope to see you again soon. Niall and Emma.

We thoroughly enjoyed last weekend in the Servants Quarters at Torrisdale which are designed and spec'd far beyond a servants requirements! Niall & Emma were excellent hosts and gave us a tour of the newly installed hydro scheme and bio-mass boiler. There really is nothing to fault at Torrisdale. It is clearly a passion for Niall & Emma who work...

Thank you for the review Gordon and we are glad you and your party enjoyed the weekend (despite the wet weather!). It was a pleasure to show you the hydro and the biomass boiler - I am afraid my boiler and hydro chat bores Emma to death so it would nice to bore someone else for a change! Cheers, and...

A massive thank you to Niall & Emma McAllister-Hall for a Fantastic, relaxing break for the family. Great historic location and fantastic environment for the kids. Sauna & Hot tub proved to be a big hit. Had fun in the beach at the castle entrance. Will definitely be coming back.

Had a great time here in November with my fiancé staying in the Garden Cottage. Lighting the fire for the hot tub was great fun but a challenge for me as I have little experience heating wood fires but I learned a lot :) The owners were lovely and welcoming and the grounds of the castle including the cottage were...

Thanks for the review and we are glad you enjoyed your stay! Regarding provisions, once here Campbeltown is the best place as it has two small supermarkets and a variety of other shops (about 12 miles away - not 18!). Lochgilphead is the best place to stop when travelling southwards to the estate at the start of the holiday. Carradale...

We had a fantastic stay at South Lodge. I cant recommend a visit to Kintyre highly enough, such friendly people and amazing scenery. We will re visit and maybe sample another cottage on the estate. Niall and Emma were very welcoming and helpful. You wont find hustle and bustle on Kintyre, just genuine, real people with a great backdrop. 5...

When we started planning our wedding a year ago we asked each other the usual question ... where shall we hold it? And both of us, at the same moment, said "Torrisdale, of course!"!! Having stayed in Garden Cottage for holidays over the past couple of years, we knew that there would be nowhere more perfect to hold our special...

Thank you very much Chris for the great review. We are delighted you and your wedding guests enjoyed their time at Torrisdale - it was great to have you here, and despite the odd shower, it was a good day all round! See you again. Niall and Emma

We had our wedding at Torrisdale at the end of August and we stayed in Garden Cottage for almost two weeks. Our wedding was great, Niall and Emma could not have done more for us, and the food was simply wonderful. Thank you for everything, we shall return next August. The area is simply beautiful, and if you like somewhere...

Even in slightly damp November weather this place was magical. Relaxed, cosy Gardener's cottage with its Milky way watching eco hot tub. Perfect. Booking was easy, good responsive communications, great online visitors pack detailing directions, local food and scenery, etc. The hosts popped in on our arrival with a few more tips and then left us to relax in this...

Recently visited this beautiful castle with 5 friends. Stayed in the servants quarter, which was amazing. Beautifully furnished and decorated. The hot tub was a great way to spend an evening! Plenty to do in the local area: mountain biking, horse riding, golf, canoeing... early morning swims in the sea! Perfect relaxing holiday!

We have had the perfect honeymoon at Torrisdale Castle. We stayed in the Servants Quarters - spacious, warm, comfortable and very well decorated. Thanks for the great review. Glad you saw the seals! Someone took a photo recently of two 'kissing seals' in the bay - very good and can be seen on Facebook. Thanks again, and look forward to welcoming you back. Niall and Emma

Our superb range of self-catering properties on Kintyre's east coast provide accommodation for groups of between 2 and 10 people. The estate offers the perfect opportunity to experience the comforts of modern day living whilst relaxing within a stunning and stress-free environment. Breaks are available for a minimum of 3 nights throughout the year.We are also embracing green technology, and have installed a biomass boiler to serve several properties on the estate, and a small hydro scheme which will generate enough electricity for 90 houses. In addition, our innovative tree planting scheme allows you, as our guest, to plant a tree for every holiday taken. Within the ground floor of the castle is a beautifully furnished self-catering apartment and set within the peaceful wooded grounds are a further four superb cottages and houses. The Kintyre Way passes through the estate, which is an ideal base for those looking to complete the long distance walk in individual stretches, being almost halfway on the 87 mile route.Of special interest at Torrisdale is the organic tannery, specialising in natural coloured sheepskins and deer skins using an ancient tanning method to produce a superior skin. ... more   less
