Well first time to Airlie arms in Kirriemuir.4 of us on a day out popped In for lunch. I ordered gammom steak with pineapple. When it came it was as if it had been dipped in like a currylike sauce! Never tasted anything as disgusting...More
We stayed for 1 night on a deal & used the hotel as a base for some local rural cycling.
The room was clean & the bed comfortable. The food was tasty, homemade & plentiful.
The bar has a limted selection of some nice beers...More
The pros of our one night, dinner, bed and breakfast stay were
- lovely modern, nicely decorated room
- very pleasant staff
- delicious food at night and for breakfast
-central location but quiet room at the back
- cold in our room...More
If you are visiting Kirriemuir this is a must for tasty and affordable pub food.
We had the mushroom rissotto and sirloin steak delicious. The restaurant upstairs is cosy and atmospheric with
Friendly staff. Nothing is too much bother.
Local so will definately be back....More
For the prices they charge the portions are very small. Never seen a salmon fillet cut so thinly and served with a few chips and the lemon sauce. Had declined the mixed veg offered as simply can't bear frozen veg (apart from petit pois).
