Stayed in The Old Cow Byre (no cheeky comments please) for 5 nights in November 2021. What beautiful accommodation, with every home comfort! As well as lovely underfloor heating on the ground floor, a utility room with washing machine, tumble dryer and airer, it also has a stunning open-plan seating area incorporating a big farmhouse kitchen table which easily accomodated 8, well equipped kitchen with plenty of work space and a minstrel gallery from which we could have been serenaded, had we thought to bring a minstrel! Next time! From the gorgeous hot tub in the private courtyard, we were able to enjoy beautiful sunsets, complete with a glass of bubbly in hand. What more could a group of retired Home Economists wish for! The beds were exceedingly comfortable and everything was spotlessly clean. Every day, we explored the surrounding countryside, walking to the stunning Reekie Linn Falls and back one day, just in time to enjoy delicious, freshly baked scones in the farm cafe. Nearby Kirriemuir, 'Gateway to the Glens', is a lovely old town, birthplace of J.M. Barrie, creator of Peter Pan. The owners of Peel Farm could not have been more friendly or helpful while their staff went above and beyond the call of duty. The gift shop is a MUST!! We loved everything about this beautiful location and cannot wait to return !!! Thank-you Claire, Darcy and co. X

What can I say about our stay at The Old Bothy at Peel Farm?

Incredible, relaxing, peaceful and away from the rat race. The accommodation is excellent, comfort being top priority from the owners. Underfloor heating was such a plus, even though the weather was very kind to us. Some amazing places to visit, Reekie Linn waterfall being one of our favourities.
Being so close to nature is the best recipe for stressed out people and this place provides that in abundance.

The little shop is like an Aladdin's cave - very easy to spend money on such beautiful goods.
We did not visit the coffee shop but it was always busy so that told us it must be a great little place to stop off.

We took our dogs with us - two crazy dogs at that - they had a great time meeting the cows, geese, chickens, turkeys, horses and all the other dogs they came across on our daily walks.

Definitely highly recommend Peel Farm.

My husband and I had the pleasure of staying in one of the glamping pods for a weekend. The pods are to such a high standard, they were very clean and well presented. My husband loved the wood fired hot tub and also loved that you could connect your phone to the speaker, it was great and it meant you could chill in the hot tub with music in the background, whilst taking in the beautiful views. We would high recommend this as a place to visit in Scotland, the farm also has lovely walks and a great cafe.

We stayed in the premium glamping pod for two nights, the place had been cleaned however not very thoroughly. Window sill was covered in dust, floor had hair on it as well as the bed sheets. The pod itself was lovely as well as the location. Very quiet at night and get a good nights sleep. The only other thing I would mention is our hot tub was luke warm, we could survive 10/15 mins before having to go back inside. I did message and ask whether the hot tub could be set any higher however I didn’t get any response back.

We had a really super long weekend break at the old Cow Byre.
It was thoroughly enjoyed by our 3 generation party group. My elderly Mum loving the countryside aspect, visits from friendly chicks and the fantastic Peel Farm coffee shop and gift shop. The 'youngsters' headed for the loch side beach with picnics, loving the farm trail and befriending all the animals. Us middlies relaxed in the Jacuzzi and enjoyed the peace. Dining al fresco we were entertained by the show of house martins - bliss.

Stayed in a Premium Glamping pod - Was extremely spacious & clean.
The Pod had a huge bed, fridge & storage. Hot tub was also lovely but has no jets.

WIFI & TV's in Pods but no Netflix etc available.

We drove to Alyth & got a takeaway for dinner (10 min drive) & had breakfast in the Peel Farm restaurant which was good!

This was our first time in a self-catering cottage, and I will say we have been spoiled! From the peaceful, beautiful countryside location to the beautifully appointed Old Bothy cottage to the welcome we received --- what more could you ask for? The cottage itself (in the photo above) is decorated to be restful and well-equipped with everything you might need to fend for yourselves for your stay. Everything is thoughtfully chosen and placed. The addition of the cafe next door plus farm shop, bonuses! We thank the owners for providing such a wonderful place to relax and explore the lovely countryside!
