I was in the area on business and chose this hotel to stay. Although I arrived well before the normal check-in time, my room was already available for me to use. I was given a very spacious double room which included two comfortable leather chairs. Bathroom door did not close and had a hole where the lock should have been....

Stayed two nights at this hotel. Good Scottish breakfast also enjoyed a steak pi dinner which while being very tasty thought it was was overpriced at £9-50! Rooms were adequate with tea and coffee bathroom clean with fresh towels. Downside was hotel bar was very busy and juke box playing until midnight then revellers leaving found it difficult getting any...

2 mums escaping the husbands and kids for the night ended up in Kirriemuir - we wanted to visit the Bon Scott memorial statue! We booked into the Thrums Hotel on a very quiet Sunday night and had a really lovely time. The room was newly decorated and very clean, the bar dining/area was very spacious. We had a lovely...

We stayed on the 17th July 2016, Even though it was a quiet night, it was enjoyable. I had the 10oz steak for dinner and it was value for money, cooked exactly to my liking and a very filling meal. I couldn't finish it. The bar and dining room was clean and relaxed and the service was excellent. We stayed...

It's not really a Hotel, it's a Pub with rooms above. We are a group booked into 4 of the total 9 rooms available. We arrived at 9pm to find a Party is on in the Pub, so we are directed to the side entrance. Where we are met by the Chef/Receptionist who asks how we are, then tells us...

We were stuck with nowhere to go and they gave us a roof over our heads. We had dinner there and it was ok. The people who worked there were very nice. The room was quite small and so was the shower but as I say we had nowhere to go so we were happy with what we had. Would...

We've been visiting the Thrums for some years now when we make our annual pilgrimage to the area. Sometimes lunch, sometimes evening meal but the standard is always extremely high and very reasonably priced. See you next year!

It does what it says on the cover, it is a hotel, it has rooms and they were clean. We didn't stay for breakfast as we were travelling and keen to get back in the road. So it was really good that we had the option to not pay for breakfast which reduced the room down from £80 to £65....

This is a small friendly family run hotel in a good town centre location. Reading other reviews on this hotel raised the issue of no reception area, granted, it can be confusing, however, with a quick nip into the bar you will find very friendly and helpful staff who are more than willing to welcome you, check you in and...
