Friendly welcome by a couple who have taken a pride in developing a tasteful, comfortable home. Julian apologised as he had to go off to help rescue a climber as part of the Braemar Mountain Rescue! Katie made sure we were settled in before going to a local history talk. Lovely breakfast made to order. As we left Katie was...

Just spent 5 nights on a return visit here. As usual we were welcomed warmly, had a clean and well-appointed room and outstanding breakfast. The welcome starts with an e-mail of directions before the stay offering to make bookings in time for our arrival. We were welcomed with coffee & home-made cakes on our arrival. They were provided each night...

Spent three nights there during our Highland trip. Overall, adequate and modern room, well stocked tea and coffee, delicious breakfast, good management and nice touch of daily homemade cakes! The building does have a lot of Scottish touches. Katy and Julian are great hosts who are helpful and respect guests' privacy. During our stay, we didn't bother to have our...

We're both so pleased you enjoyed your stay here - it was lovely welcoming you to Braemar! One way or another, we like to make sure our guests have cakes each day - we find them very useful hill food! We hope you enjoy the rest of your holiday in Scotland and have a good Christmas and new year.

One of our best B&B experiences in 20 years of travelling. From the greeting at the door, everything is wonderful about this place. The owners Julian and Katy have gone to great lengths to completely refurbish the property and it shows. Excellent bathrooms, beds and general decoration everywhere.... Then there is the service on top - very friendly and helpful...

It was a pleasure having you to stay at Callater Lodge, and it's always fun sharing our collection of whiskys! Do hope you manage to pick up a few interesting bottles as a souvenir of your trip - it's always nice to have a taste of Scotland wherever you go! Best wishes, Katy and Julian

Before our stay Katy emailed helpful directions including information on things to do in the area and a selection of places to eat in Braemar and also arranged a dinner reservation. A warm welcome awaited when we stayed at Callater Lodge in September, within 10 minutes of arriving we were sat in the guest lounge enjoying plunger coffee and cake....

Thank you so much for your lovely review. Please do come back and join us at Callater Lodge again! We've lived here for two and a half years now and are still finding new walks that excite us! We think it's important to be properly fuelled with cake before a walk - I'm so pleased you enjoyed them! Best wishes...

We had a great weekend staying with Julian and Katie. The room was very comfortable with a great bed, the breakfast superb with home baked bread and the friendliness of our hosts only put the icing on on the cake that was the wedding at Mar Lodge. Great location, great guest house, great hosts - we'll be back!

We spent our honeymoon in Scotland and stayed one night in Braemar and chose this B&B because of it's great ratings - and it didn't disappoint. Great location, amazing property with very cosy but spacious room, super friendly hotsts and really yummy brekkie. We'll definitely be staying there again should we visit Braemar again.

We stayed at Callater Lodge during a week long walking trip in the Cairngorms. The rooms were spotless, food great and the hospitality of our hosts Julian and Katy was faultless. They have a great knowledge of the mountains and a well curated whiskey collection too. Nothing is too much trouble and it feels like a real home from home....

We visited Callater Lodge on a short road trip around Scotland. Whilst the whole trip was amazing this place really made our holiday. The building – stylish and cosy.
