I chose this hotel for a seven night stay, as I wanted to combine hill walking and wild brown trout fishing. The hotel has access to the Rhiconich Estate waters and trout fishing in the many lochs and lochans is free to residents. Both Leona and Phil were very knowledgeable about the waters and their advice was very useful to...

Stayed here for one night of our scotland tour. Really disappointed! I would have looked for somewhere else if I could. Very basic. Hotel is run down and didn't seem clean. Bathroom awful. Chipped bath and mouldy shower curtain. Staff not professional. Took 10mins for someone to come to the desk. However, has good views and food we had was...

Avoid at any cost!! This place really is an embarrassment to Scotland. The manager is a complete ignoramus and the premises has not seen a lick of paint or TLC since its inception 50 years ago. The beds are rock hard and you will struggle to find a comfortable sleep as you thrash about in an effort to find some...

Truly awful. Dropped in for lunch. Huge building. Dead plants. Empty. Grumpy receptionist. Better younger owner? Plastic bread. Good soup though. Avoid!! Really very sad. Shelves with jigsaws and scrabble- maybe while we waited?

This hotel is not easy to find as no directions are given. When we found the place the lady at reception said that they were quite busy but I think that we were the only people staying there. The room needed a lot of TLC. Bathroom door didn't lock properly, the toilet was leaking and only one plug available to...

Be of courage and fortitude when calling this hotel. I made an enquiry about a single room for June which I was told they had. I, wrongly assumed you would need a card to secure the booking and said that this wasn't to hand and I would call back at 5 when I'd be home. To which I received a...

Stayed here for one night in Oct 2016. The location is good if you're doing the NC500, and there is beautiful scenery on the way to and surrounding the village. The hotel however was probably decorated in the '70s and hasn't changed much since. However bed linen was fresh, great shower head, so attempts at modernising are perhaps underway but...

The last time we visited this hotelwas over 30 years ago. It hasn't changed much, apart from the pleasant reception room which is used for breakfasts. The stairs were covered in dog hair, and the window at the end of the 1st floor landing had a large hole in the outer pane, presumably caused by a football. The room had...

The hotel seems basic on first viewing and would never be classified as 'luxury' however it is good value, the food is good (especially the breakfasts) and the view from the restaurant when the sun is setting must rate among the best in the world. We (2 couples) stayed for 3 nights to explore the very North West of Scotland...

This hotel has super views over a working fishing port, and over the sea to the Western Isles. The hotel was built in the sixties and still remains in that style, different from modern samey hotels. The room we had was clean and comfortable, as was its bathroom. We had dinner in the public restaurant, and breakfast in the residents...
