Sadly only stayed for one night. Lovely appointed modern rooms with split level and glass doors to small garden. Local ducks were fun to watch. Views of Loch Dunvegan. Large bathroom with quality toiletries. No separate shower however but large bath. Super king bed with great linen engendering a great sleep. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable and made us feel...

These are beautiful rooms in a great area of Skye. Everything has been thought of and the staff were a delight. We eat in the adjoining restaurant which was very good and I have reviewed this separately. Be warned one night here is not enough! We wished we had stayed longer. You will not be disappointed.

While in Skye for 3 days, we spent one of them here and enjoyed dinner at the restaurant as well. The room very significantly exceeded our expectations - and was the nicest room we stayed in on our entire 10-day trip. The little details in the room and amenities offered were fantastic. The bed was very comfortable, the room spacious,...

We stayed in the Junior Suite and yes it is expensive however if you are there to enjoy the delights of the Restaurant, then you know what to expect. The quality of the furnishing is unquestionably first class and extremely comfortable - from the seating to the bed / bathroom / toiletries etc all very good! The bed is super...

Stayed for 2 nights. Beautifully designed rooms- opened by a key- not a key card ! scandanavian feel to them. Our room was at the front overlooking the loch where during the morning and late afternoon you could watch as the seals were having fun frolicking around. They can also be viewed from the lounge where you are served afternoon...

Thankyou for this lovely feedback. We are very aware that Afternoon Tea is the first food and beverage that our guests experience and Breakfast is the last experience before departure. So as well as all the extraordinary new work that has gone into our new Restaurant Menus, Chef Scott Davies and his brigade have also being putting lots of effort...

Although the restaurant component of our stay was eye-wateringly expensive, all the other hotel afiects were first class and very very enjoyable. From our personal greeting on arrival to our easy checkout, all was sublimely smooth and luxuriant. Afternoon tea, stylish; drawing room facilities, relaxing and very well thought through; our suite, fabulously decadent and comfortable (and bed to die...

We went back to Three Chimneys exactly one year after our first visit. As you journey North your sense of anticipation rises; you know that the front of house team's welcome will be immaculate, your room will be perfect, you speculate about what delights Scott and his wonderful brigade of chefs will have created for you either a la carte...

It was an absolute delight to welcome you back! You are right...it is often very hard for any experience to live up to how special it feels the first time around. So it is especially pleasing to hear you had such a great time with us on this visit: haste ye back!

The room is very beautiful, clean and comfortable and the drive of over 3 hours so worth it. Decided to go for the 8 course dinner tasting menu. Very impressed with the chef use of ingredients and well execution. Staff is friendly and welcoming.

A wonderful relaxing hotel. It's small and friendly. Excellent sized rooms that are decorated in a tasteful modern style. Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Three Chimneys and The House Over-By is a Gold 5-Star Restaurant with Rooms in a stunning, remote location beside the sea in the north west corner of the Isle of Skye, Scotland. Colbost is situated on the shores of Loch Dunvegan, a wide sea loch that opens into The Minch, the narrow stretch of sea between Skye and the Outer Hebrides. The views are stunning whatever the time of year. The Three Chimneys is one of Scotland's most famous restaurants, specialising in the freshest local produce including wonderful seafood from the immediate coastal waters. Head Chef, Scott Davies, is well-known for his passion for Scottish ingredients, cooked simply to allow the flavours to sing for themselves. Providing very skilful, professional, but friendly and welcoming service at all times is what the Restaurant and Reception teams strive to achieve. Standards of cleanliness and comfort in the bedroom suites in The House Over-By are meticulous. The rooms have wonderful sea views and breakfasts (all-inclusive in the room rate) are served in the Morning Room with its panoramic views across the loch, where seals can be seen clearly on frequent occasions. Eddie and Shirley Spear have owned the business for 31 years and remain pro-active within their business daily. ... more   less

Hello,

You can bring your own choice of wine if you prefer to, for which there would be a corkage charge. We do have our own fairly extensive wine list and are happy to recommend something.

There have been some fabulous sights to see of the Northern Lights from right outside our front door at The Three Chimneys and The House Over-By, high in the northern sky above Loch Dunvegan. Recently there have been wonderful displays all over Scotland and many photographs on Facebook. This is a good time of year, but there is no guarantee of when the Northern Lights will be seen. Look at photographs taken by Andy Stables in our immediate area of Glendale, Skye. I cannot put the web link in this answer.
