We had a great 1 hour pony trek! Harriet was very accommodating in booking our outing, and our two young tour guides were friendly, knowledgeable, and safe. The ponies are well-trained, sturdy, and safe (they've definitely know where they're going). I got to canter down the beach and was thrilled to go on the outing. Would highly recommend. Helmets were...

Booked 4 days in November and had a most wonderful time here. Everyone so friendly and helpful. lots of good walks for the dog all over the island and on nearby beaches. Would definitely come again. Cosy cottage and comfortable bed, couldn't ask for more.

Stayed here a few times and have stayed in all 3 accommodations, all are well equipped and comfy and there is free WIFI to keep in contact with the outside world if you need too. Harriet, Toby and family make you feel at home and are very friendly, just remember though this is a working farm and sometimes they are...

I was able to call them last minute and schedule a pony trek the next day for 2. The owner of the farm was very kind in scheduling us in. We took an hour trek down to the beach and back. It is a beautiful farm! We got there early and enjoyed talking with the staff. Mostly young woman who...

Just spent a week in the Chougherie, loads of room and very clean. Lambing had just begun, and there are dogs, chickens, horses, deer, sheep (obviously) and thousands of barnacle geese - home from home, I loved it. Toby, Harriet and the rest of the family made us very welcome. Near to Port Ellen, and several distilleries, the wildlife on...

We stayed for a week in the Hayloft in late September/early October, when we were graced with some amazing weather. The farm is in a lovely location. The owners are very friendly and accommodating. The Hayloft is well equipped and comfortable. Convenient for the shops and facilities in Port Ellen and close to the ferry port. And it's less than...

Just returned from our latest holiday at Ballivicar and am pleased to say it was as good as ever. The cottage was clean and warm,a good job as this was the coldest wettest may/June holiday we have ever had on Islay ( all 31 of them). Our first week coincided with the Islay whisky week (Feiss) this was also as good as...

We stayed 3 nights in May at the Ballivicar farm in the Chougherie cottage. This is a nice and comfortable cottage with two bedrooms, one double bed and two singles in the other bedroom. It is not an hotel but a self catering accomodation. It is perfect for 4 adults and if you would need it, there is a sofa...

“All of the rooms are well appointed, comfortable and quiet. Since this location is off the beaten path, what am I saying, all of Islay is off the beaten path, there is no traffic noise to escape. All three rooms have a private entry and everything you will need save food for the larder. Size alone is an issue you would have to decide for yourselves. We were in the largest spot, either of the other two would have worked for a couple.”
