Although we didn't stay the warden was very kind to allow us to use the facilities for our camper van. These were excellent and we could tell this would be a great place to stay especially with a family.

Towed the caravan down from the north of Scotland for a week long visit. Facilities are great and kept very clean. Bistro is handy for a bite to eat it just a drink. View are fantastic. This was a returning trip to Islay as used to live on the Islay many years ago. Great base to visit everywhere .

The site is in a terrific location and the pitches have amazing views. The wardens are very friendly and helpful and the facilities are wonderfully clean. There are also good facilities and it is open all year.

Great little campsite and friendly staff. Spotless amenities and plenty of fresh sea air. Loved our short stay here on the isle, am sure we will be back!! Exposed to the elements but the peace a quiet is worth the escape here 👍🏻

When campervanning around the Scottish Islands, we usually only stop at campsites to use facilities and top up with water etc, preferring to camp wild and have our own space etc, however we ended up spending our whole time on Islay at Port Mor. It's a lovely site, very easy going with lovely views and access straight to the sea...

Flat field with lots of space for camping and great views of Loch Indaal. Hook ups limited to one corner of the site and need to be booked in advance. Check in was easy and campers are welcome to arrive overnight - great if you arrive on a late ferry. Reasonable rates and dogs welcome (no charge). Facilities clean and...

I guess to camp you don't really need a great deal, just a bit of flat accessible ground with running water and toilets nearby. We're getting a bit spoiled these days with hot showers, laundry, electric hook-up and wifi. If you're used to that though, then you will be pleased to hear that the facilities in Port Mor are great....

A fantastic campsite with very clean and modern facilities. Booking in was simple and we could park up wherever we wanted. Very good value for money for what you get. Would definitely stay here again.

Campsites on Islay are understandably limited. This site is well laid out offering views for everyone with hookups , showers , washing up and laundry facilities all inclusive. The showers are part of sports field facilities offering individual shower cubicles within single Dec communal changing rooms all very well maintained. The CDP is very basic - lift a manhole cover...

Was not camping but felt I had to review the playpark which had things in it that I have not seen. The whole site looked welcoming and very clean and tidy. The family ate and thought it very good value for a lunch.

“Advise contacting site in advance, if the site is busy, I'd try to book a spot especially if you want electrical hookup”

“Book a pitch, they all have sea views but the ones at the bottom by the coastline are un-interrupted stunning views across the bay to Bowmore.”

“If you choose to camp overlooking the lake be prepared for a barrage of strong winds so be sure to strongly secure your tent.”

“If you arrive late or on Sunday, make sure you have enough food, milk etc. to cover your first night until you can get to the nearby shops as there isn't a shop on site. Have a few pound coins handy for the washing machine and tumble drier. £3.00 for a (large) wash load and £1.00 for half an hour use of the (large) tumble drier (half an hour's enough, trust me).”

“Here's a great tip - remember to bring a cheque book with you and a lot of cash as you can only pay by cash or cheque in a lot of places.”
