I took my family to Strathaven Hotel on 30th December 2022 to celebrate my mum's 80th birthday. I took the cake and balloons the day before and Danielle on reception was a great help and assisted me (in the rain) to take everything from the car to the function site, great job Danielle. On the day, Sam, Rebecca and Eilidh really looked after us and made sure my mum and the rest of the family had a memorable experience. Well done guy, great service. Thank you to the Strathaven Hotel and its excellent staff for all your efforts.

Staff were fabulous, very welcoming and Friendly. Took our dog, quite pricey for the dog considering there were no dog bowls available for the room. Good parking and food was good. Housekeeping let the standards down. The first room we were given had not been cleaned from the previous occupants although we were quickly shown to another. The bath/shower in that one had not been cleaned properly as the remains of the last person's shower gel was still there. only one hand towel in the bathroom, although more towels were brought to us. spare blanket in the wardrobe just bundled in a heap in the bottom, water glasses would have been good, had to use the coffee mugs to take tablets. Basically we just felt there wasn't the finesse or attention to detail in the room.

Stayed 2 nights at the Strathaven hotel, Visiting friends and family. Unlike other hotels you are not just a number, from when you arrive you are made to feel warmly welcomed. The staff are so professional and friendly. we dined last night in the restaurant and the food was amazing and at a very reasonable cost. Bedrooms are extremely comfortable and have everything you need All in all we would highly recommend the Stathaven hotel to anyone visiting the area. 10/10

Booked this hotel for three nights but left after one! It was unfortunate that our stay coincided with a wedding party with music till midnight then very loud voices till at least 1am. With a room above the hotel entrance there was little sleep. Complained to the sympathetic duty manager and we were not charged for that night. The room is in need of renovation with an antiquated heating system, old windows and curtains (net curtains pretty grubby) that didn’t fit. To be fair the small en-suite was modern. Food was OK and staff pleasant and helpful.

I attended a private family function on 29th September. The room was set up beautifully. All the staff were very attentive and very friendly. The food was delicious and the service was to a very high standard. Unfortunately, as I live so far away it's unlikely I'd be able to return, but I would definitely recommend a visit here for anyone closer.

Lovely setting. Bedroom was lovely. Ground floor. Bed was huge and very comfortable. Bathroom with shower. Could have done with a couple of glasses. But clean and tidy. Staff are all lovely. A credit to the hotel. Food was fabulous at dinner and breakfast. Young woman in the bar at breakfast said 'Morning ... how you doing...your wee dog is beautiful...take a seat anywhere...make yourselves at home and we'll be with you shortly '. How nice to be greeted like this and not an inconvenience. Food was delicious. Definitely coming back.

Really lovely evening in the Hotel. Warm attentive staff, great cocktails and nice menu of food using locally sourced produce. The restaurant was very busy but staff were well organised, good service and they dealt with my partner’s food allergy impeccably. Thank you!

The rooms are tired and in need of renovation. Bathroom and shower is poor. Over the Bath shower fittings are tired and outdated. Restaurant food is expensive and of average quality. Chef cannot cook a medium rare stake and claimed a well done steak was perfect. Staff are willing but the place just needs a reboot and sharpening up.

Friends gifted us a voucher for our diamond wedding December 2021 to the value £75 for Strathaven hotel We had a sad time due to another friend having to get her dog put to sleep which we had looked after for 3 years, so decided we would use our voucher to cheer us up (some hope) !! The story began. Firstly we telephone to book answer machine said leave details we will get back to you (some hope ) So decided at around 1 pm just to go and see, was greeted with have you booked !! anyway they showed us to a table , we then informed the waitress we had a voucher, she said fine give us it at end of meal and she took order for drinks next disaster shandy for husband came turned out to be lemonade impersonating a shandy, beer was next to none existing, bar tender came over and asked if all was ok husband said no and informed him about the shandy his reaction was to laugh then said would you like me to make up another and then make a fool of my husband by waiving the glass up at him and indicating was this enough beer ha ha ha people all looking at us, maybe we were just a pair of silly OAPs to him anyway we had two coarse meal on the special £17 each with two drinks bill came to £38.60. we gave our £75 voucher !! Waitress came back and informed us that was our voucher spent as they didn’t give out voucher for balance you can imagine we were shocked anywhere else we have been they have either written on voucher what was spent and balance left or gave another voucher, manager came and was quite rude offering a bottle of wine to take away value out of Aldi £4.99. so we decided to pay cash and left clutching the famous voucher feeling worse than we did.before we entered the hotel and vowing never to visit again ever !!!! Told friend who gave us the gift voucher who complained to the hotel and eventually they were given full refund of £75 no apology by the way and we had spent £38.60 we could I’ll afford OUR ADVICE NEVER GIVE ANYONE A VOUCHER FOR STRATHAVEN HOTEL they take the lot apparently this is in the small print so beware
