This is a beautiful building with charming chapel for wedding ceremonies, decor is tasteful, traditional and luxurious. The dinner we had on the previous evening and the wedding meal were very good. Eventually the wedding arrangements came together and the reception went ahead very well. Unfortunately that is where my praise comes to an end. I was in the Glencoe...

Hotel is lovely but...the wedding co-ordinator seemed to be absent on the day and several things could have been better organised. Marquee not set on time, 1 barman in bar during pre dinner, ran out of beer, no lemon.....too many things to mention. Attention to detail is everything. On check in and check out staff member was very vague. If...

We stayed here a couple of weeks ago and it was interesting to look at reviews after we had been. There is one by Paul C on 3 April & it pretty much summed up our experience. The building is lovely and the location is peaceful & quiet. We were in a room in the old stables area & we...

This hotel did not live up to expectations. Our room was small and very hot even though the heating was off, and no way to cool it down. The housekeeping left a lot to be desired. There were three large cobwebs (though, fortunately, no sign of their creators) which we were sure had been there for a while. And the...

Very disappointed, my husband and myself paid for one of honeymoon suites as we were staying over for a friends wedding. On checking at 1.20pm the rooms were not ready (we were 1 couple of 7 couple rooms, that was not ready), we had to go to another guests room to get ready before the wedding at 2pm and go...

I was at a wedding at this hotel. None of the arrangements made by the bride and groom ran on time. The night before the family members turned up at the hotel and none of the rooms were ready. Some people didn't get their rooms till 9 pm or later. On the day of the wedding the guests turned up...

I have stayed in quite a few of the 'stately' buildings hotels in various locations in Scotland and found their facilities, service and rooms to be outstanding. Unfortunately Shieldhill Castle Hotel falls down in every regard. The building itself is beautiful but don't expect it get any better than that. I had a voucher offering an overnight stay with a...

Our room was on the second floor and it was huge. Lovely view overlooking the garden area and we could see the helicopter pad below. Room was lovely and warm. Furniture was rather ornate but different. Didnt like the black ish wallpaper and bathroom needed updated. That said the staff were amazing , the food and dining room service was...
