The entrance gate is very low key with minimal signage which really does stop tourists simply wandering around and spoiling the private atmosphere for the guests; a very good idea and once you are at the end of the mile or so long drive you really do feel as if you’re on your own estate. I was welcomed at the...

Lovely hotel which feels like a private home. Glorious setting, huge, beautiful room and great food. The staff were simply outstanding - some of the best service I've come across in a hotel anywhere in the world. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.

The gourmet dinner was fabulous. the service was excellent. But our overriding memory is of our room - which was desperately in need of redecoration. Having paid £505 pound for 1 night, we expected excellence and received in overall terms, a shabby deal. We would not return

Highly recommend this spot. Spot on service, excellent cuisine, staff could not have been more helpful! Restful, beautiful and will be back! The surrounding area is right out of a storybook! Perhaps the best smoked salmon at breakfast I have ever had.

From pressing the buzzer gates and winding up the beautiful daffodil filled drive and been welcomed by genuinely welcoming staff to the elegant six course banquet every little detail was a true delight !! Relaxed but highly efficient staff work tirelessly to make your stay a seamless joy. We thought four evenings of six course dining may get a little...

Fantastic from start to finish. We got an early bird 2013 deal but the service and accommodation was first class. Rooms are lovely and the attention to detail is great. All of the staff were welcoming and very helpful but not overbearing. The food and quality of service was exceptional. While the accommodation was quite expensive, the value for money...

Booked lunch here purely on the basis of its Michelin star award, and i certainly was not disappointed. Both the food and service were excellent and the surroundings really were magnificent. The ox cheek was tender and full of flavour, the combination pork dish tasted superb and to finish i had the best raspberry souffle i've ever tasted. The presentation...

Having sampled quite a number of Afternoon teas throughout Scotland, we decided to try Glenapp's as a treat for a friend's birthday. We were met in the courtyard and ushered into the hallway where our coats were taken and then shown into the lounge which was all very friendly and attentive. However, it was downhill from then on - terrible...

Arrived to a personal welcome. Made to feel very comfortable in main lounge. Very attentive staff kept tea coming and ensured we left completely full with a doggy bag for relatives. Amazing location and fantastic building; well worth the trip!
