The Lochgreen is one of the preeminent hotels in the area. It is situated on amazing grounds surrounded by a small beautiful little forest that quickly backs onto the various golf courses in Troon. The hotel itself is a monument of history dating back some time and is well decorated to match. The rooms are huge and well appointed -... More

Very nice hotel with eclectic mix of furnishings and art. Large rooms, Wonderful food. Lovely staff throughout the hotel, friendly and helpful. Only criticism is drinks prices particularly in the malt room, are unnecesarily high.

By appearance this hotel looks as if it should be first class however their afternoon tea was poor. Positives: Service was great Clean Negatives: Not sat at a proper table- which means everyone is sitting awkwardly No fresh tea leaves No tongs for the sugar cubes Sandwiches are over filled with cheap ingredients And worst of all- the scones were... This hotel is by far the best in the area and an all around fantastic place to stay. Where to begin, the grounds of the hotel are beautiful and perfectly manicured. The rooms are very spacious well decorated with the right amount of elegance blended with comfort. The morning breakfast is definitely something to wake up for. The selection was... More

We held our wedding here in early November and I can't sing the praises of the Hotel and staff highly enough. The approach to the Hotel is through beautifully manicured grounds. The hotel itself is gorgeous, classic elegance is how I would describe the style. The hotel and the grounds provided the perfect backdrop for our special day. The hotel... More

We had the set lunch in the Tapestry room which is a very pleasant space - no muzak and just the murmur of other tables but in the background. Food was excellent - well presented, imaginative without being bonkers and very tasty. Fantastic value for canapes, 3 courses and coffee for £25 per head. Coffee in lounge with mini cakes... More

If anyone is intending to stay in the west coast of Scotland then this is a brilliant place to make your base depending on whether you are travelling or playing golf in the area. The hotel is a wonderful country house set in large and beautifully manicured gardens and not far from the golf courses in Ayrshire. The hotel is... More

We stayed here for a couple of nights for a wedding and ate in the restaurant. The rooms are absolutely ginormous, slightly ridiculously so, but I struggle to make that a reason for complaint. The beds are comfortable and the bathrooms also large and well appointed. The grounds are truly manicured - a real credit to the team in charge... More
