My wife and I visited The Torridon for dinner this week, what a fabulous experience. First, the surroundings, delightfully traditional Victorian. The staff, from us entering to leaving were attentive and friendly. However above all else, the food. Beautifully constructed menu, the flavours and combinations were exquisite. There was nothing to fault, it was all superb, down to the final relaxing...

Spent a short break here to chill out in luxury. The room was fabulous and the location was idyllic but the superlatives ended there. The whole dining experience was pompous in the extreme. Its one of those places where they put more effort into describing the food than into actually making sure it tasted good. By the time we got...

Thank you for your review. So pleased you enjoyed the room and location. You do appear to have a problem with the restaurant service which we understand will not be to everyone's liking. However, if it meant that much to you or you had to do was politely ask the team to refrain from their short explanations as you were...

Oh do we love the Torridon! We visited for three nights in mid- September for our 25th anniversary. This was our second visit. Our first was for our 15th anniversary and we've been trying to get back there ever since. This part of Scotland is just stunning. Every vista is amazing and unlike anywhere else. The hiking is accessible and...

This was our second visit to the Torridon (this time as a group of 5 rather than a couple) and we found it every bit as excellent as we had the first time. The location, service, food, rooms, views are all exceptional. It is not cheap but you get what you pay for. We stayed 2 nights eating in the...

Really enjoyed our stay at the Torridon. We had a lovely warm welcome arriving on Friday evening - the reception was warm and inviting, with the smell of the log fire. We stayed in a classic room, so had no view, but it was beautifully decorated and very comfortable. There are many other places to enjoy the view - we...

Great service, great outdoor activities and great food. Very good wine list. Highly recommended for a romantic weekend but also for a family trip. Spectacular bar with whiskey! Great hiking and kayaking as well as mountain biking. Very pleasant archery lessons with a very pleasant instructor. The service is very nice and attentive. The drawing room has a beautiful few...

This is a wonderful country hotel. We arrived at 8 o'clock at night after a harrowing drive. A portion of A832 was closed and we had to take a circuitous route to the hotel. We called to tell the staff that we would be late. Ross, who I think is the assistant manager, could not have been more gracious or...

My husband I recently returned from a short two night stay at the Torridon Hotel. The location is idyllic and the hotel has been restored and is maintained to very high standard. Being privately owned the family clearly take pride in their business which is great to see. On arrival we were shown to the lounge and offered tea as...

We thoroughly enjoyed our silver wedding anniversary here, in such a relaxing and comfortable hotel. We had a deluxe room which was superb. All the staff were lovely and always up for a chat. We loved the choice and contrast of dinner in the restaurant or dinner in the inn. Hope to be back sooner than later!

I've been thinking about writing this review over the past week and what rating to give, and have decided to come down on the side of 4 stars. It probably deserves 4.5 and here's why. The Torridon is a wonderful hotel - the location, the commitment of the owners, friendliness of the outdoor instructors and quality of the food are...
