Stayed here on a whiskey weekend. The old farmhouse has been done up in an array of colours, all along the style of Glenmorangie Whiskey. I really loved the open mindedness of the decor. I cannot fault the staff, Amy in particular is delightful, fun, helpful and hard working. All the staff are great. The chef is well trained and i loved his food and understanding of flavour. We had a great time with a selection of people we had never met. Texans and Londoners, both were lovely and fun to be with. We were treated to a Scottish piper at dinner. What a talent. What an absolute gentleman. The house was comfortable, relaxed, and interesting, all the rooms are lovely. Finally Finley a young man, outstanding well done to him. Thank you for everything and converting me to Whiskey of such outstanding quality…
I found Glenmorangie by chance when looking for a wedding venue in April 21. We went to see it in May’21 and a quick visit in March 22 and instantly loved it and it was booked for our wedding in May’22. We had exclusive use for 3 nights. It’s not a hotel, it’s a home from home. They are going through a refurbishment and the design is quirky but very well done and all the rooms have a theme based on the whiskey making process. There is not a TV in sight, communal dining and the bedrooms don’t have keys (you can if you ask) but it never bothered me as always forget my room key when staying in a hotel so loved this! The location is quiet but beautiful, with lovely gardens and a 5 minute walk to a private beach. You can go and watch the sunset up from the beach. The food is excellent and all local produce. David, Amy, Ally, Victoria, Ronnie and Head Chef John and his team are all so warm and friendly and just can’t do enough. The venue was a huge hit with my wedding guests who were truly enchanted by Glenmorangie and just couldn’t say enough good things about it. There was a standing ovation for Chef and his team on the last night and the staff joined in the Kayleigh during the reception with cheers as they did. It is a hidden gem and I think the only regret I have is it took me this long to find it and we didn’t stay longer! Have already booked a visit for our 1st wedding anniversary! Would highly recommend if you want a friendly place, with beautiful surroundings, great food and super staff.…
A simply wonderful relaxed few days at Glenmorangie House. Terrific staff guaranteeing a homely stay. The dinner setting in the long table dining room was a wonderful experience. We also greatly enjoyed a lovely walk down to the beach at Cadboll and a pleasant couple of hours rockpooling. Can’t wait to go back!
This is a fabulous welcoming boutique hotel that is designed to operate as a house party and showpiece of the LMVH empire – groups of guests can use all areas of the house as they wish and pre-dinner drinks/canapes are in the Garden room, followed by communal dining around a large table, and communal drams in the Buffalo room. I’ve been before and when it works it works really well. Now here’s the problem … if a large group book the hotel and you’re an add on couple the large group kind of have the run of the place and you are to some extent side-lined. Whilst we did our best to interface with the large group we were not allowed to take coffee in the normal area, we weren’t allowed to use the garden room for pre-dinner drinks as the large group had a whisky tasting, and most concerning of all we weren’t allowed to participate in communal dining as the large group (10 people) said that they had specified private dining – this was a surprise to some of the staff, there is no private dining area. The booking that I made stated cottage (wedding) so I had called to make sure that there wasn’t a large party and was told that there wasn’t (wedding is the name of a cottage). If we hadn’t had a couple of drinks we would have left. We were promised a free repeat stay but 3 messages to the hotel/House Manager have now gone unanswered. It’s probably pot luck – chance it if you dare.…
We were fortunate and able to get a one night stay booked at the Glenmorangie House on a recent April Sunday night. From inquiry, to booking, to our stay itself, The Glenmorangie House and the team are top-notch! From the get-go, we were not 100% sure this would be appropriate while traveling with kiddos (2.5 & 6 yrs old), however, the team made us feel more than comfortable booking as a family. In fact, they made custom arrangements for an early kids only dinner!!! Our arrival was by train and we made arrangements for the House driver to pick us up at the Fern train station. He was there with the Mercedes van as soon as we arrived! Very promptly, our luggage was loaded and we were whisked to The Glenmorangie House estate. Nestled on a fantastic seaside estate, the House is absolutely gorgeous! The main house has all of the entertaining rooms on the main level and guest rooms upstairs. We were in one of the cottages (Malting) outback. The cottages are all themed after the industrial side of the distilling process - cask, malting and marriage. Our cottage, Malting, had a small entry way and then a room on either side. The main room had an incredibly comfortable bed and the other side had a pullout couch which was perfect for our boys!! Decor throughout the property has been recently updated and is lovely, eclectic and aligns with the new vibrant branding of Glenmorangie. Each room offers a different sensory experience and every detail has been considered!!! Once we were settled, we were given an overview of the property and given time to explore. We were told to wander freely and treat the estate as our own! The walk down to the sea is fantastic and if you want to wander down the beach you will find the "chapel by the sea" and a replica of the Hilton of Cadboll Stone - both worth the stroll! As part of our overview we were informed of future additions to the property, including a stargazing dome and outside bar! Back at the property, we freshened up for the evening. At 6 pm our boys were set-up in the breakfast room for a chef-prepared pasta dinner - they LOVED it!!! At 7 pm, the adults (us & 2 other couples on this Sunday evening) were asked to convene in the Morning Room for a whisky tasting. David, the House Manager, walked us through the tasting - other beverages were also available if you are not a whisky drinker or just desired something else in addition. Canapes were also served. After the tasting, we moved to the dining room for a multi-course dinner. Joe, the chef, came out with each course and gave a brief overview of what he had prepared. Everything was fantastic - just delicious!!! A wine menu was also provided to select a pairing with the meal. Post-dinner we retreated to the Buffalo Room for coffee/tea/drams. We enjoyed the company of the other guests and found the evening to be perfect! I even stayed up a bit later than everyone else and got to talking with David (manager) and Joe (chef) for quite some time. In the morning, breakfast was served - again, another delicious experience! We then checked out and the House driver loaded our luggage and whisked us off to the distillery for the 10 am tour. The Glenmorangie House is a world-class experience and was the highlight of our 7 days in Scotland. We would highly recommend and we hope to return again down the road!!! Cheers!…
My partner and I stayed here for B&B/dinner early last year and were taken aback by the wonderful quality of food and service. The staff were extremely friendly and catered for our every need. On Saturday past my family held a function in one of the unique board rooms and, once again, were blown away by the service and food/drink. Of special note our thanks to David (who assisted in making the function possible) Ronnie, Vicky, Ali, and Amy who all ensured that the day was seamless and personal. These staff are a credit to the 'Glenmorangie family'.
We stayed in a deluxe room which had windows over the garden and out to sea on 3 sides:) The best thing about Glenmorangie house were the staff ( especially Victoria & Ronnie) and their attention to detail. We had some health concerns and they kindly adapted the experience so we felt very comfortable. The meal was lovely and breakfast delicious. The decor is very eclectic and a talking point in itself! Wouldn't hesitate to rebook at Glenmorangie House.
My husband and I enjoyed the most wonderful world-class experience at Glenmorangie House on Saturday night. The service is excellent, the rooms are stunning, the food is delicious and for whisky lovers, it really is a sensory playground. There is a private beach close by, perfect for a pre-dinner drink. We really enjoyed meeting new people and sharing a fabulous evening together. A special shout-out to Joe who looked after us so well on Saturday night. We will be back!
This is a truly amazing place. The service is outstanding. The food is wonderful. The decor is gorgeous. It's quirky and stylish, but not pretentious at all - a difficult trick to pull off, which they do perfectly. Dining at one big table along with the other guests sounds like potential torture, but works beautifully well, thanks to the excellent staff and the convivial atmosphere that the place (seemingly) effortlessly encourages. 5 minutes easy walk to the beach. An honesty bar. Log fires. What's not to like?
An absolutely gem! We had a wonderful, 2-day stay. Everything was simply perfect-- the warm welcome from Amy and lovely staff throughout. The food was unbelievably good - although be aware that meals are on a long table of around 12 couples. We enjoyed all the company but that cannot be guaranteed. The actual hotel and rooms are stunning and the drinks served in a lovely, relaxing atmosphere. We will definitely return.
