We stayed 2 nights in a pleasant but rather anonymous room in the main house, Irvine, with a large bathroom with twin basins, stand alone bath and walk in shower. The view from the rather small window was straight out over the Summer Isles. The public rooms are very pleasant especially the comfortable lounge. The first night we ate in...

We stayed in the Log house and had a fantastic stay!! It's a very cosy 2 bedroom 'chalet', a beautiful bathroom and a complete kitchen. It also has a wood stove, with all the utilities you need to light it yourself. And the breakfast was a delight!! A full Scottish highlands breakfast in a very nice setting. Very much recommended!!

In principle I usually write direct to the owner of a hotel or restaurant rather than putting a review on Trip Advisor, however I have been unable to find out who that is and hence this entry. Having visited the hotel many years ago we looked forward with great anticipation to our stay on 6th May for 2 nights. What...

On arrival we were downgraded to an inferior room, without consultation or prior notice. The room had a loose exposed electrical twin plug socket, stained furniture and a small TV secured to a corner raised wall bracket. The ensuite had grubby mosaic tiling around the sink, a trickle unusable bidet , a loose seal around the shower door and limited...

Truly magical from the service to the room and the dinner! King size bed, very comfortable, large room and en suite. The dinner was top quality equivalent to a Michelin rated restaurant. And the view, oh my! Would definitely recommend.

We detoured on off the NC500 route having heard good things about the hotel. Well we were not disappointed in any way. We had a lovely room, built with a lot of timber, across the courtyard, super comfortable with a big bathroom. Dinner was preceded by drinks in the bar, with stunning view out across the water. Dinner was a...

Stayed with my husband as part of his birthday celebrations. Scenery and views spectacular. Staff very friendly, helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Interesting to talk with. Accommodation and public areas very clean. Fresh decor. Was unable to access menus on line so could not confirm where we wanted to eat. The website might benefit from being more informative....

Stayed here two nights on our tour down the West coast of Scotland. Very welcoming and comfortable, room was excellent, as was the "fine dining" in the restaurant. Great location with marvellous views.

We'd driven a long way, in bad weather. When we arrived, we were asked did we want a reservation for dinner in the restaurant. We said yes. No other option was mentioned. We were then taken outside, across the car park, in the snow, to our room, which was in a row of chalets. We had not been told that...

Dear Bernie B, I am very sorry to hear that the weather has set you in a not so good mood. In April, or occasionally even in May, here in the Highlands of Scotland it tends to rain and snow sometimes, but I do have to say we have had some remarkably good weather so far. I am not sure...

The Summer Isles Hotel has the benefit of little competition and that is reflected in the price you pay for a stay. It's not that it's a bad place to stay it's just that if you are going to charge relatively high prices then you have to judge on that basis. My partner and I stayed in a superior double...

Dear Alan F, Thank you for your feedback. I am sorry to hear that you had an experience that did not fully live up to your expectations. The beds in some of the rooms are, as you mentioned single beds. Just to clarify for other customers that might be reading this, the single beds are specifically designed so they can...
