Stopped inn for evening dinner. The seafood was fresh and nicely prepared. Service excellent. Delightful desserts. Highly recommend after touring the Smoo Cave which is just down the road. Lunches are also served.

Nice room, albeit a little small. Excellent bar with good beers. Good choice of food which was tasty. Durness is a very pretty village surrounded by mountains and sea. Well worth a visit as is the Smoo Cave Hotel. Would stay again.

Lovely family run hotel with very friendly and efficient staff. We had an ensuite room which was bright and welcoming, huge comfy bed. Only downside of the room was the soundproofing as I could here the people in the next room if they were in the shower etc. Evening meal was really nice but the breakfast was amazing, best we've...

What a great hotel, from the minute we arrived to the minute we left we were made to feel very welcome by both staff and the locals in the bar. Our room was warm and comfy with a spotless bathroom and the most lovely view. We ate in the restaurant and both declared the food delicious, my husband had the...

This hotel became our evening meal stop whilst doing the Scotland North Coast 500 by motorcycle. Our B&B did not do evening meals and our hosts suggested we visit the hotel. Great recommendation. Staff were very friendly and welcoming and the food was first class. We sat in the conservatory and instantly relaxed. Food was served promptly, not that we...

We stopped here for tea whilst cycling NC500. The pub itself is very cosy with a log fire in the bar area and friendly staff and locals. We had steak pie fresh out of the oven and haggis with neaps and tatties. The portions were absolutely huge and the pie was without a doubt the best we've had in a...

Booked this last minute after camping plans fell through due to bad weather. Really accomodating ans very friendly people, always making sure we were happy and comfortable but without being intrusive. Very modern rooms. Food also really good

Stayed here just for one night while driving the NC500. Had a great nights sleep in this very tidy, warm and cosy hotel. Dinner at the hotel was good too although the breakfast the next morning was a bit lacklustre in comparison.

We booked this hotel as we needed somewhere to stay with our new puppy whilst on a short business trip. Smoo Cave Hotel didn't disappoint, everything was perfect - the location, the food, the cleanliness, but above all the friendliest of welcomes & the fuss they made over our puppy. Excellent service from all the staff! We'll definitely be back,...

I didn't stay at the hotel but came here to eat and have a drink. The staff and locals are incredibly friendly and made me feel very welcome. I had some good quality food with exceptional service. I stayed and had a drink with the locals as they took the time to have a chat with me and to give...

“Choose a room recommended by another traveller. Ours was abominable.”
  • Chunks of porcelain missing under the sink.
  • Both bedside lampshades were cracked and damaged.
  • For the price we expected more than a canvas wardrobe.
  • Some of the black damp in the shower.
