A lovely traditional country hotel. Service was excellent throughout. I read some of the Trip Adviser reviews and was concerned with what we might get. I do not know what planet some of these people live on. The hotel is a country house hotel. It is not a sanitised Hilton or Marriott. The hotel exudes character. Our room was huge...

Took the wife to the Ramnee on Valentines Day for lunch. Beautiful building in lovely grounds and plenty of parking spaces. Traditional Scottish hotel decor inside, lots of wood and warm colours. We ate in the bar which was staffed by very polite and friendly staff. Food arrived quite quickly and was very good. Wife had prawn sandwich and the...

We were here for a wedding, but stayed for 3 nights total in one of the luxury rooms. Accommodation is good, but expensive for this part of world, Edinburgh prices seem a bit steep, we were nearly £150 a night for b&b. Not much less than we paid for near all inclusive in one of the worlds top hotels in...

We stayed 2 nights, room was nice and clean with a comfy bed. The full breakfast was lovely! We are in the restaurant one night - steak was a little fatty - minted lamb was lovely but I didn't like the duchess potatoes, these should be golden from being baked. These were like dried up bits of mash. I'm not...

Lovely old building on the east side of Forres, which has been let down by the staff and owners. It looks like it wants to make it money on rubber chicken events rather than on it paying guests having a good experience. Staff generally had an uninterested attitude, unless it was to gossip between themselves which you can hear in...

Hi Carolyn Thanks for your lunch review. Chef always uses fresh potatoes for his chips, rather than the frozen variety and this appears to cause an issue only when the make of potato changes. The potatoes are supplied ready peeled and vacuum packed so the change has not been obvious to the kitchen. Cooking time has therefore not been reviewed...

Best night I've had for a long, long time, at the Mad Hatters Xmas Party Night! Five of us from Elgin Registrars dressed up and had an absolute ball from start to finish. From the minute we were greeted at the Door by the falling "snow", and the welcome inside, we were in wonderland right enough. Superb meal, great games, brilliant...

Just been to a Mad Hatters Party Night and it was brilliant. Gary and his team were so well organised and provided us daft Registrars with a great night out. Good food and the cocktails were lovely. Tried our best to sample as many as possible. Would recommend a party night here any time.

Have stayed in this hotel some years ago on business but this visit was for a holiday stopover. Room 205 on the first floor up was excellent with views over towards Findhorn bay. Four poster bed was a treat and very comfortable. Only problem was that the secondary double glazing is in poor repair. They panels were hard to adjust...
