We stayed recently on a 2 night deal which was good value. Room was spacious with a mixture of different styles. Bathroom had been recently renovated. Needed the additional portable electric heater provided given the overnight frosts. Food was fine, nothing special but it did the job. Wine and beers are expensive when compared to equivalent locations. Reasonable range of...

We have just returned from a lovely weekend at this hotel. We were two couples. We had a charming room on the ground floor and our friends had a large comfortable room upstairs. The staff were all extremely helpful especially the young man who checked us in and saw to all our needs both evenings and the lady from Nairn,...

I've just spent a weekend at this hotel with a friend, and also took my dog along. This hotel is truly dog friendly, she was welcome in the reception area, in the room and in the bar, plenty of places that your furbaby can enjoy the weekend with you. The service was excellent and the staff were extremely welcoming and...

Just returned from three fabulous nights at this hotel. Staff are so friendly and helpful and it is so much nicer than staying in the anonymous chain hotels we've all become accustomed to. The breakfast was best cooked one we've had in ages and the evening meals were really good and excellent price too. Yes the decor could do with...

This was the second time we had visited the Knockomie and yet again we weren't let down. Very relaxed and nothing is too much trouble for the very friendly staff. The food is excellent with a nicely varied menu. A great base foe visiting the nearby attractions. Would definitely recommend and will be back!

Copy of email of complaint sent to hotel 26/10/15 Dear Carol Further to visiting your hotel today, it is with great dismay that I feel the need to inform you of the low standard of our entire experience. Upon arriving at the hotel, we were coldly greeted by a disinterested waitress with no customer service skills. The reception smelt strongly...

Four for dinner - restaurant busy on a Saturday night. Attentive service, choice of imaginative alternatives on a varied menu. The rum and raisin parfait with toffee sauce was chosen by 3/4, and rated by all three as superb.

Our travel bible before TripAdvisor was Peter Irvine's Scotland the Best which highly rates, justifiably, Knockomie. We do too following our overnight stay. We have a tip - if you are eating there at night take a torch! There's only one central light in the Dining Room (the "big light" for older readers) and if you are between it and...

The bed in our twin-bed room was comfortable and we slept well. I also loved the shower though it was not clear how to operate. The chair in the room had seen better days. The TV had a (too) small screen. The room opened into a little garden. Bar is nice and so was the dinner. Staff was very attentive....

Didn’t stay there for the night, but as Family was staying there for a few nights we decided to go for a meal there with them. The scenery and setting is ideal if you want to get away from the rat race, but still not too far away from civilisation. The staff was polite, always on hand and ready to...
