Returned to this pleasant hotel for a Saturday evening meal, in a largish party. We had a delicious meal, which was spolied by the fact that the hotel was very under-staffed and the available waiting staff were young, inexeprienced and obviously not fully supported by proper training. This was such a shame as it spoiled our enjoyment of the evening... More

A gem hidden in a new residential area at Fortes. Well decorated rooms. Great restaurant and malt library. A lot of public spaces to enjoy. You can get the feel of living in a big but quiet Scottish manor with plush upholstery and a very romantic vibe. The Grill serves great food of generous portions. The staff are great too.... More

Booked for afternoon tea. Very happy to see we could take it from 12 noon and you did not have to wait until 2.00pm. Really good scones with jam and cream, tasty selection of sandwiches and lemon posset with selection of very nice cakes. We could of sat outside but we had a view of the garden from inside. Good... Stayed at the Knockomie hotel for two nights on the 26th march. The hotel is very dated. We went out for dinner in the evening and returned before 11 pm, we were locked out eventually someone arrived and let us in. Our room which we were told was an upgrade was ok, however the shower was over the bath so... More

Stayed two nights in May. Our room was large, the bed comfortable and the shower very efficient. It is an old building and I felt it worthy of an update, especially the lounge which felt neglected and where we had a very basic cream tea on arrival. Really, a scone with cream and jam hardly represented my expectations. The evening... More

It is an older hotel, and let us not be under any illusions that it is a Grand Property. It is a large, country house, running a little to scuff, but charming, warm and a quite delightful place to stay. We were here for a two-night stop, and thoroughly enjoyed the property. The staff were friendly, the room comfortable (although... More

We felt that the service could have been better. The food was ok albeit a little over priced for what it was. - no bread with the soup nor was it offered. The table was spacious and well placed. And we enjoyed catching up with our family

We stayed at Knockomie when visiting family nearby. The hotel is a lovely building and a warm welcome awaited us on our arrival. There was a roaring fire in the beautiful entrance hall and we were shown to our room which was on the ground floor with patio doors to the garden - extremely useful when accompanied by our dog.... This is a small hotel with just 15 rooms on the outskirts of the town of Forres, which is a short drive from Inverness and roughly an hour and a half away from Aberdeen and in the heart of whisky country. Staff are efficient and friendly (without being too intrusive). The rooms are all decorated in different themes with comfortable... More

We stayed recently on a 2 night deal which was good value. Room was spacious with a mixture of different styles. Bathroom had been recently renovated. Needed the additional portable electric heater provided given the overnight frosts. Food was fine, nothing special but it did the job. Wine and beers are expensive when compared to equivalent locations. Reasonable range of... More
