Although this hotel is listed as a Port St Mary establishment it is only a 20-25 minute walk from Port Erin (all on a footpath alongside the main road). We were very glad that we sought this place out. The restaurant is very smart, lovely decor, clean, and staff are very welcoming. We had superb meals, the sea bass was...

Stayed here for a special birthday treat for my wife. The hotel was lovely and the family extremely welcoming and helpful. We couldn't have picked a nicer place to stay and would certainly value our stay here much higher than the hotel in Douglas where we also stayed and paid considerably more. The food here was also exceptional - enough...

We went for a meal and had it off the expensive menu. I ordered the chicken lasagne, but asked for no goats cheese sauce as I don't like goats cheese. I did ask for a cream sauce instead but couldn't have that!!! They said it was layered. When it came it had three pieces of tasteless chicken and one sheet of...

This is the first pub/restaurant that I have visited on the IOM that stands comparison with the best foodie pubs in the Cotswolds and West Country. Have visited twice in last 2 weeks. Second visit was with a large party of 11 and everything we had was spot on. Interesting menu is varied enough for most tastes and can be...

We came down to Port st Mary for a charity gig at the town hall and rather than drive all those(20) miles back to Ramsey, we booked ourselves into this really friendly hotel. We had a lovely hassle free stay, the double ensuite room was very clean and spacious and shower excellent. There was a band on in the bar...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Railway Station Hotel is a traditional family Pub set in a beautiful rural location in the South of the Island. It has been extensively refurbished throughout and was re-opened at the beginning of June in 2013. Enjoying great views of the countryside, situated directly next to the working steam railway and only 10 minutes walk from the nearest beach it is a great place to visit with friends or family. Whether sitting in the sun in the beer garden or avoiding the rain in the cosy lounge bar in front of a real open fire, you are always sure to get a warm welcome. Should you be hungry, we have a selection of tasty appetisers and delicious main courses so you are sure to find something to satisfy your appetite, accompanied with a glass of chilled white wine or a full bodied red it's a great place to finish off a countyside walk or spend a relaxing afternoon. We also pride ourselves on having a good selection of both local and guest real ales and a great selection of beers. There is also a separate sports bar, where you can catch the game, play darts or have a game of pool on our pool table. We have an outdoor childrens' playground area with its very own train and we have a parent room for those that need it. We have full disabled access, parking and toilet facilities. ... more   less
