The guest house is located in the centre of Lamlash, directly across from the water, and has private (but very tight!) parking to the rear of the building. Colin offered a very warm welcome, with a helpful tour of the building and overview of amenities. The property has a charming sitting room, as well as a bright sun porch containing a good supply of maps and local information. Colin and June also have a friendly dog and sleepy cat to add to the homely feel. The room itself was surprisingly spacious and well-appointed, and was immaculately clean. The shower-room was also spotless, and offered fancy complimentary soaps from Arran Aromatics, a local company. We spent a delightful and comfortable night there. The one time I woke up during the middle of the night, I noticed that there was complete and utter silence, which was very welcome to this city dweller!
Breakfast was delicious, and my husband and I both enjoyed smoked salmon scrambled eggs, fresh fruit salad, and plenty of good coffee. We left feeling relaxed and well-rested for our exploration of the island.
Another bonus to staying at the Lilybank is that it is next door to the GlenIsle Hotel which has a lovely bar and serves wonderful meals.
We had the best of both worlds, a great B&B with stunning views and good breakfast while the GlenIsle gave us the chance to enjoy an evening meal.
Colin and June the owners are lovely people who made us feel welcome from the moment we stepped foot into the building. The rooms are immaculate and breakfast is wonderful.
We had a great view from our room onto the Holy Isle, the rooms had a tv, coffee making facilities, fresh linen daily and a welcome folder with lots of helpful info about the island.
There a parking spaces behind the building. Extra touches included a guest fridge that you could use, there was milk available to take to your room and a guest sitting area.
The area itself is beautiful and I think we were lucky staying here compared to some of the other areas we visited.
I would highly recommend this B&B.
"Room 1 was good for the view, though tall people might need to beware of the sloping eaves over the twin beds."Read full review
