Stayed here 22/4/17 rm 3. Charlotte was a great host, allowed me to drop off bags before the check in time as I was cycling around the island. She's friendly and welcoming. The room was clean but a little tired looking but for the money (£55 single occupancy), you'd struggle to find cheaper on Arran except for hostels. Private bathroom...

Actually I was wavering about the rating, in reality I would have given it a 'good' but that option was not open to me. We arrived on a wild night and it was great to be taken into the toasting warm house and welcomed by the equally warm and welcoming Charlotte. Our room was clean and well appointed. The en...

Room 4. Located at the back of the house over looking a garden. I have to say I was disappointed in the room. It was old and tired looking. The bedding looked like it had been washed 1000 times. Wallpaper peeling off the wall. Mould/damp spots all over the ensuite bathroom and the toilet brush was covered in dirty toilet...

On arrival the bathroom was not cleaned and the next morning there was dog/cat poo on the breakfast room floor. The whole place had a bad smell. I am still awaiting feedback from my complaints on this matter. Need I say anymore?

Strathwhillan House is both convenient and has a lovely exterior. That is about all the positive I have to say about it. We arrived and were greeted by the owner, who was pleasant and welcoming but were almost instantly hit by a damp, cloying smell you would find in a moldy attic or badly kept single glazed property. We were...

We arrived off the ferry midday and went directly to the B&B and were able to check in and leave our luggage there and proceed on touring the lower isle. The room was clean but smaller than we had been experiencing in Scotland thusfar. The host was pleasant and very informative of the area. Breakfast was good and had to...

Stayed there last week for 4 nights, very dated, crying out for an update, very damp smell and the ceiling have big marks of damp as well. Also found sweetie wrappers under the bed and in urgent need of a hoover under the bed, as there is a big pile of dust collected. Staff never introduced themselves on our arrival,...

We had one twin-room with a shared large bathroom, and one double-room with a private tiny bathroom. Rooms were clean but a bit humid (as quite often in UK), beds comfortable. B&B has a peculiar way to offer breakfast only for half an hour: and choices should have been pre-ordered the evening before. However, breakfast was plenty and tasty. Checking...

Pros: Fantastic location. 1 minute by car from Ferry, 5 minute walk into town center. Great cooked breakfast. Room 4 (family room) very large and spacious, huge kingsize bed and a single. No damp smell anywhere as mentioned in previous reviews. Owners friendly and happy to help Cons: Wifi single only seems to be in the Lounge. Mattress needs replaced...

Nice big room, very quiet and peaceful. The cooked breakfast is lovely, but on two of the days I had a breakfast bag instead as I was going out early. This is amazing with a very good choice of healthy options. The landlady is very helpful.
