THE HOUSE The Guest House at Kames was built in 1860 and was initially a Blacksmith's Smithy and barn. The building was renovated in 2006 into the steading that it is today. The house has two guest suites only upstairs, The Montrave and The Kames. Both offer accommodation of the highest standard and can be set up as a double, twin, or triple/family. The Guest House has ample private, off road parking for residents. There is also a patio overlooking rolling fields with phenomenal views for use on summer evenings. Freshly prepared breakfast is served in the stunning ground floor dining room at a magnificent dining table with wonderful views. THE MONTRAVE SUITE The Montrave Suite is well appointed with crafted Vietnamese dark hard wood complimented by cream leather furnishings including a chaise longue and recliner armchair. There is a king size bed with luxury linen and towels. A queen size bed can also be added to make a twin or a triple room. The large en-suite bathroom is fitted with power shower, electric shaving socket and Arran Aromatic toiletories. THE KAMES SUITE The Kames Suite is also well appointed and stylishly furnished with a super king size bed and gorgeous furniture from Glasgow's west end craft store 'Nancy Smillie.' The seating area in the room has a beautiful black leather sofa and we are building up an array of local, bespoke accessories to catch the eye and the imagination. The large en-suite bathroom is fitted with power shower, electric shaving socket and Arran Aromatic toiletories. In each suite you will find • Hairdryer • Free-Wi-Fi • Docking station for I-pod, • Television • Tea and cafetiere coffee making facilities with fresh milk, and Scottish tablet or handmade chocolates. • Bottled water and a welcome dram is complimentary on arrival.

We don't usually do bed and breakfast as the whole concept of being in someone's house is a little strange but Craig made us feel so welcome. His local knowledge is amazing, his individualised breakfast menu and his whiskey and golf knowledge is amazing! Cannot recommend it enough!

Beautiful and unusual modern guest house in owner's (Craig) large house. Made very welcome by Craig who came out to greet and welcome us. Gorgeous room on first floor. (Dormer room, so not full windows for what were lovely views over the fields, and sloping ceiling over the (huge super king very comfy) bed, so banged our heads a couple of times till we learned!!) Huge room though, beautifully furnished with a sofa for watching tv. Two enormous built-in wardrobes. Large modern en-suite shower room. Fantastic breakfast next day! Would definitely recommend!

Service Craig was most welcoming and ensured good hospitality and a comfortable stay. The cooked breakfast was well prepared and the helpings were good. The Rooms We stayed as a family and occupied both rooms which are located upstairs and are well appointed as are the en suites. The Beds are very comfortable and the rooms were very clean. Location & amenities The House is located in lovely rolling countryside, approximately a 15 minute drive from St Andrews. The house is relatively new and well furnished. Ample off street parking is available. There are a number of surrounding villages in which are located good pubs and eating places. What we liked Least - nothing really, apart from a very minor comment that in the Double en suite there was no place to lay toiletries. Best - the welcoming and helpful manner of the host.

Nothing short of exceptional!! Craig is an excellent host - nothing is too much trouble! We were made to feel welcome as soon as we arrived. Excellent room, beautiful wooden furniture, power shower and fresh coffee. Feels more like a 5* hotel than a B and B - would definitely recommend and revisit if back in Scotland! Anna and Leo

Excellent accommodation. Superb hospitality, friendliness, helpfulness and a great choice of best quality food for breakfast. Great countryside location with an easy 15 to 20 minute drive along a quiet, straight road into St Andrews. This accommodation and service raises the bar very high. 5 star plus - we'll be back!
