Stayed for 30 minutes. A pint and a glass of wine. Both were fine and service was good and friendly. Menu looked to be standard pub fare. Pub was very quiet and decor very tired. Needs some investment or customers, or both.

Popped in for a meal -The first thing that struck me was a "damp smell" but continued into the Bar and ordered a bowl of Soup followed by a Steak Pie and must say the Cooking was fantastic and well prepared. Pint of Lager went down well and a pleasant atmosphere amongst the staff/owner. It is sad that the Hotel...

Enjoyed a quiet walk East along part of the Coastal Path through the caravan park to Kilminning Nature Reserve. Returned along the road last the the old Frail aerodrome, now a motor sport complex. Not much to look at so you really have to use your imagination to see how it might have been. Or, try Crail Museum first for...

Thank you for your review. In response (sound like you were unhappy with children not being allowed at the bar area) All I can say in that respect is, when parents miss the signs posted (no children beyond this point) leading to the bar area, we a have duty to inform them that, children are not allowed in the bar...

Whilst visiting Crail we chose this hotel for a meal as it meant the least walking distance in a very cold night. Then saw on trip advisor it was rated no 1 in Crail. What a little gem. The place was empty when we arrive early evening. Inside it looks like an "olde world pub", is spotlessly clean and in...

Was visiting family in Crail on a Friday night and went for dinner at 8:30pm. The only place that served dinner until 9 was the Balcomie. We turned up at 8:45 and asked at the bar are you still serving food? The man behind the bar replied with "Just about". Now for a business on a Friday night you would...

There is a good example of, how a review can be miss-represented without intention. This was on a Thursday night and it was just after 8pm and the question asked was, "are you serving food tonight?" and the answer was, "we always do" as we do serve food every night during winter from 4pm till 8.45pm. "Just about" was not...

A welcoming check-in to this location was followed by going to a comfy room with a nice view towards the sea. Staff were friendly, everywhere was clean and tidy, though a bit 'tired' and could benefit from overall redecoration. Breakfast was the only meal we had, it was delicious and gave us energy to explore the surrounding unspoilt area.

Had food in here 3 out of 4 nights - no complaints. Local real ale was very good - drank it every night. Drowned my sorrows with it watching Scotland game. Very warm and friendly welcome from owners and bar staff. Would recommend.

We had a lovely week using this hotel as a base. We had a very large sunny room overlooking the sea. Through the decor was a bit out dated it was very clean with a very comfortable bed. I couldn't get WiFi in the bedroom but it was available in the bar. Breakfast was a real treat with lots of...
