We decided to have lunch at the Old Inn on Sunday 12 th march, when we arrived at the restaurant we found it very difficult to find a parking space but eventually managed to squeeze into what seemed to be the last one. I'm glad that we did because the food was worth the effort. I had the rare roast sirloin...

Dear no27, Thank you for taking the time to post a review on Tripadvisor. Unfortunately, we feel that your review does not accurately capture the real version of events experienced at the hotel. On the evening in question, you bought your drinks at the counter of the main bar, found a seat and sat down. At no stage did you...

Stayed overnight for a family birthday celebration. Staff very attentive. Delicious food although the vegetarian option tasted bland. Breakfast the next day was fantastic. We had a standard room overlooking the Main Street. Heard cars in the morning but otherwise ok. Old fashioned sash windows. The bed was very high off the floor which is ok if you are tall...

Stayed there for our 45th Wedding anniversary, We had afternoon tea then cocktails in the Bar and Staff were very helpful but when we were served our dinner which was braised short rib of beef with champ and broccoll, the meat was full of fat and very salty and the champ and broccoll were buried below the meat if you...

3 course meal with bottle of house wine and late check with breakfast out for £140. We went back to a room we love "thatch patch " only disappointing thing about the room was it was two single beds pushed together and they weren't even the same height! ( DOUBLE BED NEEDED ) it's a £70-90 a night room the...

Having visited the hotel for meals on a number of occassions, my husband and I decided to try an overnight stay in February. The room was beautiful, comfortable and spotless. We had booked a package so the menu was a little limited, however closer inspection showed the seemingly standard fayre had some little twists. The meal was expertly cooked and...

Have been before for meals but this was our first time staying overnight. On arrival the fire burning in the foyer made it feel homely. After checking in, we found our room to be quaint, spotless & all we could need. Our dinner & breakfast were super as we new the food would be from previous visits. The staff were...

The setting and decor of this restaurant is lovely. The bar is also cosy with coal fires and comfortable seating - you can also eat here. However, the Early Bird menu in the restaurant was very disappointing- only 3 choices and one of them a sandwich. You get a glass of wine or soft drink included for £12.50. We chose...

A beautiful way to spend a Friday/Saturday in rainy March. Gorgeous open fires, four poster beds and a Nespresso machine in our room (1614) - fantastic hospitality. Never disappoints. Can't wait to return!
