The Priory Hotel building was an actual Priory in the 16th Century and the history is apparent in the many paintings depicting monks. We decided to book an overnight stay there with dinner to celebrate my birthday having admired the building and lovely gardens when on a riverside walk in Wareham. Parking is behind the hotel and not easy to...

Pleasant Evening Dinner, Good Food, Pianist setting a lovely atmosphere in the Lounge with pre dinner drinks and some nibbles. The priory is a lovely boutique hotel right on the river stour. Good secure parking facilities down the side of the hotel on a gravel driveway. On arrival you certainly get the feeling of taste. A very enjoyable evening, all...

We visited based on a recommendation from our B&B. We called the day of and booked for a cream tea. The service was subdued but fit the setting. The sitting room was lovely with a fire going in the fire place. The tea and scones were very good and it was a nice relaxing atmosphere. Definitely worth a trip for...

We had been looking forward to dinner at the Priory. Travelled 55 minutes from our weekend hotel with such expectation....this was quickly dashed. The parking is a challenge, the welcome non existent. We waited 20 minutes to receive menus, then waited another 20 minutes to be asked our food choices. The manager, who looked stressed, very tired and under pressure from...

This is the second time we have visited the Priory for lunch. We were not disappointed. Very good service and excellent lobster! There is a great view over the river and a lovely ambience to the restaurant. We would recommend it to anyone.

I chose The Priory after reading the reviews here and was not disappointed, it really is an excellent hotel. The buildings are quirky, initially I thought a bit of a rabbit warren, but you soon get used to it and I was shown round by very helpful staff. It was so nice to be in a building with character rather...

Superb lunch. Traditional English sunday roast with excellent flavours cooked to perfection. High quality dining. Service is formal and precise, a very special experience. All in the riverside setting of the Old priory.

On reflection it’s hard to say if this hotel represents good value for money, but that isn’t really the reason to visit. We had dined here several times before in the ground floor restaurant, but not stayed. Our visit this time was a half-board “package”, and we booked well in advance to avoid the school holidays and/or peak tourist season....

We stayed here for three nights in a beautiful room and one of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in. Exquisite linens and large soft fluffy towels in the (admittedly small) bathroom help the feeling of being pampered. Hotel staff unfailingly helpful and attentive without ever being intrusive. The hotel restaurant is excellent with high standards of cooking...

Booked a two night stay including dinner for a break in my wife's chemo therapy treatment. Everything about the hotel was lovely and the food perfect. Even breakfast was all freshly cooked to order - not a buffet in site. Service very attentive, which made us feel special. The surrounding countryside super and the autumn sun was very welcome. Our...
