What a cracking spot to stay! The charming old building sits overlooking a lawn that rolls down to the River Frome. Car parking is available behind the hotel but you have to look for it. It's a wonderful spot to stay if you want to trot round the stunning local area.

Our arrival at the hotel was met with indifference by the member of staff on reception, though the young woman who showed us to our room was pleasant enough. The rooms are extremely well appointed and the grounds of the hotel are beautiful. What struck us as mediocre were

My family and I came to The Priory for my mum's 50th birthday meal on the 5th of January. My parents had been staying in the hotel and my brother and our partners joined them for dinner. The service was incredible! The staff were so accommodating and nothing was too much

A group of us went for dinner to celebrate an 80th birthday. It was quiet, but enabled us to 'hog the fire' when we had our coffee. We all loved the design of the restaurant with its 'green oak' beams and massive windows with the candlelight reflected in them. All our food

Assuming there is parking at the hotel ?
There is a small car park at the rear, behind electric gates, which open very slowly.

Does the diner menu change regularly ? Thank you
Both lunch and dinner menus change from day to day, fish more regularly. However there are certain popular meat dishes that are more permanent, however there garnishes can change depending on season. In the autumn / winter you will see a lot more game on the menu. For example we are due this seasons Grouse to be delivered this week.

Yes you can run along the riverside path towards the sea which is part of the Purbeck way. It may get a bit muddy in the late Autumn and Winter

I'm sorry but really not sure regarding ground floor rooms in the main hotel but there were additional rooms in a garden annex that were ground floor. Also the main building is old and I didn't see any lift. We did have to ring them regarding a query and they were very helpful. Could always email hotel direct.Hope this of some help
