Fabulous night. Food was amazing and the staff efficient. Christmas party for 26 party revellers was no problem at all. Highly recommend, one of my favourite places in Wareham. Thank you to Lisa and Co. We all had a great night ☺

Overnight stay at the Red Lion pub/hotel. Huge ensuite bedroom with comfortable beds. Excellent breakfast and all round 5* service. Situated in the centre of the historical town of Wareham. Great for small shops, restaurants and exploring. Recommended.

We chose to stay at the Red Lion so that we didn't have to drive all the way home after attending a concert at Kingston. We arrived half an hour before the 3pm check in time, but the receptionist was perfectly happy to check us in as soon as she had ascertained that our room was ready. A super room...

I remember this place from 12 years ago, when the bar was more 'traditional' and the rooms uninhabitable. I stayed last night through necessity, as it was the only double available in the area, and I was working locally in the evening. The room is beautifully done. Gorgeous vintage wardrobe and dressing table, king sized comfortable bed, clean, white bed...

My Wife and I stayed here for a night in order to attend a family wedding. It would appear that the Pub has been recently refurbished. Downstairs is very clean and perfectly comfortable. The bedroom with en suite bathroom was clean and adequately equipped. We were given a warm welcome and although the room wasn't ready as we were early,...

I have lived in Wareham for almost two years now, and occasionally pop into The Red Lion. It is always clean, friendly and welcoming and the staff are very polite. On the few occasions I have eaten in there, the food has been first rate. The main reason for my five stars is because I foolishly left my purse in...

What's not to like?! In the centre of the beautiful Saxon walled village of Wareham, lovely rooms, friendly staff, great beer and food and a good breakfast. My only complaint would be that the breakfast could have done with beans and black pudding but that's just me being picky. I really would recommend staying here for any purpose. My wife...

A repeat visit to the Red Lion. It's not easy to get to from South Wales by public transport but well worth the effort. Once again I was superbly looked after by owners and all the staff. They were chatty without being intrusive and were interested in where I was visiting in the area. My room was clean and well...

Would highly recommend this accommodation. We would never normally choose to stay in a pub but this was booked for us as part of a cycling holiday. We really enjoyed our 2 night stay there. Staff were superb and the room was clean, spacious, comfortable and very quiet. The quality of food was so good we chose to take evening...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Red Lion, after years of neglect, has undergone a refurbishment totaling around half a million pounds. The Red Lion now boasts 8 individually designed bedrooms, all of which are en-suite and some are suites. We have a formal restaurant, a relaxed snug dining area and comfortable bar with a great selection of lagers, ales, wines, premium spirits and champagnes. We are situated on the town cross in the centre of Wareham, the gateway to the Jurassic coast. Wareham is beautifully placed to tour the South coast.
