My wedding party took over the Milton Lodge to stay for our wedding in the church opposite. It was the perfect place and our American family guests loved the personal and friendly service. Thanks to Jo, Jennie and owners Terry and Maureen. You made everyone feel so welcome and at home.

I just love this place and had the best stay ever. This hotel has such character set in beautiful grounds. I really liked the quirkiness all the different pieces of furniture and pictures. The owners Terry and Maureen an Jo who runs the hotel were so welcoming, genuine and full of enthusiasm. I stayed two nights with my husband we had...

We stayed here as it was close to a party we were going to. The hotel was easy to find and we were given a warm welcome when we arrived. The room was fine and the bed was really comfy. My favourite thing was the breakfast. You could choose from a few continental options, fruit, yoghurt, cereals etc followed by...

We stayed here for two nights when visiting friends nearby for a special party and chose it only for it's proximity to their house. What a lovely surprise it was. A great welcome from Jo and we were shown to a lovely big room and bathroom overlooking the front garden. The building is full of artefacts and pictures and although...

I stayed here for a wedding recently. The cost of the room was £100. The decor in the bedroom was incredibly out of date with a really old tiny shower. The bed was poor quality and old with worn floral bedding. The hallway smelt of cigarette smoke as you stepped outside of the room. The worst bit about it was...

Unfortunately we felt this B&B / hotel is grossly overpriced. £100 per night got us a very small and dated room. The shower was terrible (no bath) and looks 20 years old. Cheap bed and towels. And that's before breakfast. Home made jam is great, but the cheapest sausages money can buy (the cheap roadside cafe ones - yes that's...

We were on our way to Cornwall having picked up a hire car in Watford. We had not booked anything for the night so we drove in on the off chance. We were pleasantly surprised. We met Jo found they had a room available and at that stage of the day just wanted a room. Jo was excellent she is...

We called in here for a cream tea, there was 8 of us and we sat on the patio area in the beautiful gardens. We were greeted by Jo, who made us very welcome and brought out trays of tea, homemade scones, cream, homemade jams. chocolate cake and bread pudding. All very delicious. We then met the owners Maureen and...

This was my first stay at Milton Lodge and I could not have been made more welcome by Jo the manager and Maureen & Terry the owners. The hotel is charming and unique, being set in six acres of beautiful gardens lovingly tended by Terry. My room was scrupulously clean and comfortable. The decor is slightly dated and eccentric but...

Do not stay in this hotel if it rains! I've read previous reviews and yes this hotel is set in beautiful gardens and it can be classed as 'quaint'. It is an old hotel and when we walked into our family room and found the wallpaper hanging off the wall in the bathroom we decided it was ok given the...

“It is so quiet here, I don't think it matters. However I had a double which was apparently the smallest double room, (room 10) which was still a reasonable size.”
