We were a party of 5 staying in 3 double rooms for 2 nights in mid-August. We were warmly welcomed by Sheila and Nick who were pleasant hosts with several helpful comments about the surrounding area, including dinner venues for our second night. The rooms are very well decorated with fantastic bathrooms, consisting of a large stand- alone bath, good...

We loved our stay at this historic house which has been beautifully and luxuriously furnished. Even though close to the main road, the house is quiet. We were received with a great welcome, and tea and home-made cakes. Returning late after eating out, we enjoyed the cosy lounge area, great for a nightcap. All-in-all, a real treat of a retreat,...

A lovely, historic place with attractive rooms and wonderful hospitality and attention to detail. A very good breakfast sets you up for the day and there is a nice lounge with an honesty bar and a fire. We have stayed several times and keep coming back.

An historic house in Charmouth that has been tastefully renovated. Nick and Sheila have created a superb B&B with a charming and relaxing atmosphere. Our room (Thomas Chard) was spacious and comfortable - the bathroom in particular was a delight. Of special mention was the breakfast - homemade bread, granola and jams. Also a vegetarian menu for breakfast which for...

Myself and my new wife decided to stay at the Abbots House after our Wedding. Being a local, I wouldn't have even known that such a lovely, relaxed and luxury B&B existed in Charmouth. The room was a delight. Every little detail is remembered throughout the room and the building and Nick and Sheila are very welcoming to all of...

Historic house in beautiful Dorset. Within walking distance of the sea and wonderful costal walks. Sheila and Nick were ideal hosts friendly and knowledgeable. The breakfast was one of the tastiest with home made jams and marmalade. In the garden was an interesting miniature Swiss railway and it was relaxing to watch it whilst eating our breakfast. Our room was...

This is a lovely B&B for a relaxing weekend. Nick and Sheila are great hosts, friendly and obliging, and have thought of all the little touches that make for a welcoming stay. Sheila is a fab cook, making her own bread, preserves, cakes etc. The breakfasts were simply delicious with a huge range of buffet choices (loved the rhubarb compote...
