Just back from a 2 night weekend break, we had 2 rooms – 1 suite and 1 twin (both sea view). The hotel is wonderful, recently refurbished and top notch. To be honest I could not really fault the hotel at all, we ate on 1 night in Doyle’s restaurant, the food was awesome – came out quickly, well-seasoned, clearly...

The food here was so tasty and the service was very attentive I would definitely go here again although it is not cheap - a special occasion place to go and there were two Birthdays where the staff came in with a cake and candles. Despite other reviews, lovely meal in Doyle's for my wife's 40th. Pleasing menu, prompt service and a reasonable bill with wine on the tab. Would be happy to return. Ham Hock Terrine, Rump of lamb and cheese board....and a lovely setting. Will return.

I've been going to the Woolacombe bay hotel for about 20 years (I'm now 29) and I think it's a wonderful place to relax. The hotel itself is lovely, there are large drawing rooms which are usually empty ( I do go in low season though) where you can sit and do with or read. There's a lovely spa with...

This year the food standard at breakfast and Dinner is difficult to explain but poor quality cheap food, poorly cooked. first night I was saddened to had ordered lamb on lentils. Only to receive boil in the bag shank dripping with fat throughout the dish and lentils floating in it. No fresh vegetables offered. I ordered something green in order...

Thank you so much for your feedback, we very much appreciate you taking the the time to do so. I have been able to discuss the experience you had with both our Restaurant Manager and our Executive Chef and they are equally disappointed that your time in Doyle's was not a memorable one. We have discussed the Lamb dish that...

Lovely old fashioned seaside hotel with stunning views of Woolacoombe Bay. Rooms are all very comfortable, pool(indoor and out) and all amenities are available including a pitch and putt course! The restaurant was elegant and the food delicious, breakfast is definitely worth getting up for!

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Much of the Hotel has been lovingly restored from the mid 1800's, creating it's unique and tranquil atmosphere. High ceilings, chandeliers and comfortable, quiet lounges are a testament to that era, and where first class modern amenities are required, they have been skilfully incorporated into the existing Woolacombe accommodation. We place high value on our staff. Trained to be attentive yet unobtrusive and to provide the kind of personal service that is so often hard to find. ... more   less
