Last visited this pub about 40 years ago and I have to say it has lost none of its quirky charm! The layout of the pub was the brainchild of the father-in-law of the current licensee who was very friendly. We had a lovely meal, very reasonably priced. Will certainly visit again.

Just had a lovely meal here. Last came here about 40 years ago and it has not lost any of it's magic. If you love originality, this is the place to come. Worth coming just to see the ladies' "Super Loo"

We passed this pub whilst out for the day and just had to pop in. The pub was just about to close for the afternoon but we just had time for a swift half. We had three of the grandchildren with us and they thought it was brilliant. All the areas are themed and there are lots of little hideaway...

Great ale and food. Now that's out the way lets talk about the pub itself. If you want somewhere different, magical, touched by the elfs and fairies, perhaps even a witch then this is the pub for you. It's warm, cosy and truly a gem. Nooks and crannies, quirky decor and beams await your exploration. Untouched by the likes of...

We had a fantastic time at the Highwayman Inn. Such an interesting and unusual venue. Food was lovely too. Owners very friendly and obviously proud of their pub,and quite rightly so. Can't wait for our next visit. Thank you.

We were staying in North Devon and found this quirky pub while looking for places to go . We drove to the highwayman and were not disappointed the place was so quirky ' creepy' interesting full artefacts & nooks and crannies everywhere and the galleon bar is worth the trip alone. We didn't eat but the food looked a bit...

It's truly difficult to describe this pub. There is character in every corner and it seems a waste to sit on just one table (we took our drinks and wandered around). The drinks are fairly priced and the gentleman behind the bar was friendly. All in all, a brilliant experience (if not a little surreal).

Totally unique, and should be wonderful, but on our visit the experience as a whole left us very disappointed. Drinks very poor value - £17 for 4 coffees and 3 small lemonades, which would be acceptable if quality products, but the coffees were made with very cheap packet mix, and the lemonade was nasty and flat. Men's toilets appalling. We...

Sorry you weren't happy with your experience. I am not sure what you were expecting from the inn exactly. I know you came in rather late, when we were near to closing time, and were clearing up the other bars. I sincerely wish you had said something at the time to us to express your dissatisfaction in what seems to...
