Well off the beaten track but well worth the efforts for the baked goodies in the drawing room (aka living room) to the sumptuous breakfast and the inexhaustible local knowledge of the hostess. Rooms are large and comfortable and the grounds are spacious and fun to explore. I feel comfortable in the knowledge that I am supporting a local family...

Sophie and her dad were very welcoming and friendly. The house and grounds are beautiful. Our room was large, very quiet, and comfortable. We had the best night sleep of our entire two- week vacation at Kelly House. We wish we had booked more than one night! Breakfast was fantastic, I highly recommend the Haytor eggs and local sausage. Will...

Wished we could have spent a week at Kelly House! It is the most fascinating place we have ever stayed; a home that has been in the same family for over 900 years. The family is extremely welcoming, with cakes laid on in the drawing room on arrival. They were also very accommodating of our request to arrive a little...

Tucked into the middle of nowhere, Kelly House turned out to be a wonderful old manor, full of interest and surrounded by beautiful grounds and trees. Smart, Kelly House is not (if you expect level surfaces, air conditioning and double glazing), but the bed was very comfy, the room spacious (loved the under carpet heating) and the shower superb. The...

Stayed for one night only unfortunately but would definitely return. This is an ancient house with so many interesting objects, paintings and furniture you would never be bored. The rooms are large but well equipped and we had a great shower. As it was summer we didn't get to try the under carpet heating but we had a fantastic nights...

The Kelly family are about as welcoming and friendly as they come. There is also a unique history to this b&b that rivals some of the better known houses in Cornwall. The rooms themselves are spacious and newly refurbished and you couldn't find anywhere more restful. We had the best night's sleep imaginable. The house is being restored by the...

Well, I for one was a little concerned before our visit for a couple of reasons. Firstly, with it being a BIIIG place I was concerned that it may be a little chilly, and with it being an OOOLD place (Some parts around 600 years old!) I was a little nervous that, with me being a superstitious type, it may...

Fabulous place. Think Gite. Gorgeous, spacious room, with large bathroom with new bath, basin etc. Very peaceful. Huge, extremely comfortable 4 poster bed. Fantastic service. Home made Vegan cup cakes for our arrival. Imaginative vegan breakfast (they cater for any diet). This is not your average B&B. The house is so full of history, and some of it shows in...

We have just come back from a wonderful three night stay here and had a great time. Our room was stunning - beautiful four poster bed and lovely en-suite. Gorgeous views across the countryside. Sophia, the host, was very sweet and attentive. She told us about the history and restoration of the house which was fascinating. The family items dotted...

This place is lovely and value for money. My business stayovers are at the usually uninspiring haunts( Premier Inn, Travelodge, Holidayinn etc ). So this time I decided to have a look around for something different. Kelly House met and exceeded my expectations. Its not a large hotel / B&B, so you get great customer service. The food is also...
