We travelled around south Devon looking for the perfect location for our wedding with enough accommodation for travelling family. When we went to view the hotel, from the second we arrived the staff on reception were always so friendly and from then on we felt so welcome on every visit. The service is a very high standard. It was the...

Location is very peaceful and has lovely views. Avoid if you are uncomfortable driving along single lanes with room for one vehicle only. We stayed in an attic room which was well decorated but unsuitable for anyone over 6ft tall and only a hand held shower in the bathroom meant that showers had to be conducted sitting in the bath....

We only one had one night at this hotel a) we were visiting friends for dinner and b) the hotel was fully booked which was a pity. It's a wonderful old William & Mary house with lots of history and charming rooms, hidden down a series of tiny lanes just miles from the coast. On seeing my walking stick the...

As soon as we stepped inside we were made to feel so welcome by the smiling receptionist. One of our rooms was not quite ready for us so we had an excellent cream tea on the terrace served by a very friendly waitress. After our tea we were shown to our rooms, our friends were on the lower floor and...

We stayed for two nights with complimentary bubbly on arrival and breakfast included as we booked through a website which also gave us 60 per cent off. Our room was "Peony" and it was situated just above the kitchen, judging from the loud crashes from pots and pans we kept hearing in the evening. Despite this, the room was lovely...

Our second visit to this hotel and it did not disappoint. We ate in the hotel resaurant on the first night and were impressed the the quality of the cuisine and the service. It is a real pleasure to have a meal in such a splendid dining room. Our cream tea on our second day was also excellent so I...

We stayed just one night at the hotel and certainly left wanting more. From the moment we arrived we felt cared for. The hotel is set in lovely gardens and woodland in a remote rural setting. We found the standard of service excellent but not overwhelming which is entirely due to the wonderful staff. The rooms are beautifully appointed with...

We have just got back from two nights in this lovely hotel. It is literally in the middle of nowhere, and we did spend a lot of time on back roads thanks to a less than efficient Sat Nav. We mainly chose the hotel because it looked beautiful and the food was supposed to be good. They weren't able to...

Just can't get my head around the truly shocking road on the hotel grounds. Even have a sign saying "Pot holes" and that's an understatement. We would not return again before asking if the road has been sorted, it's that poor. Now the good news. Good service but sometimes a little slow but done with detail. We all enjoyed the...
