A fabulous five days away. A good location for walks, steam train and cycle rides and visiting gardens The room and bathroom were spotless and the food, particularly the soup and dessert, was heavenly. Hew and Sam made us feel as though we were guests in their home.

It was a great place to celebrate our Ruby Wedding anniversary. The atmosphere was relaxed, friendly but also very professional. The food in particular was excellent, using local produce. The hotel is set in beautiful gardens and on the edge of the SW coast walk for great walking.

It is truly relaxing and the decor is beautiful. We have stayed twice already this year and have booked again in October. Sam and Huw are lovely hosts. The menu changes daily and we have always been spoilt for choice.

We will be visiting again to enjoy the excellent service and warm welcome which is always given by the owners.

We have stayed at the Old Rectory a few times now and have very much enjoyed each of our visits. This one was no exception. We were welcomed on arrival by Hugh and treated to a suite for our one night stay which was very quiet, comfortable and well equipped. We loved the afternoon tea with a special birthday cake...

We stayed at the Old Rectory while visiting North Devon. We had heard a lot of good things about it and had high expectations. We were not disappointed. The owners Huw and Sam and their staff went out of their way in making our visit memorable. The decor of the hotel was lovely and our room was welcoming and cosy....

We booked our stay here to jointly celebrate our honeymoon and a special birthday some time ago, and our anticipation was only heightened by the increasing number of prestigious awards the hotel kept picking up in the intervening period. We were not disappointed. The welcome we received was very warm, and tea and cake (which became a daily ritual) in...
