Lovely little pub, very welcoming friendly staff who were quite happy for young children to dine. My wife sat in peace for 45 minutes with free wifi while I took my 4 and 2 year olds to the park over the road which has brilliant swings, slides and zip wire. When we ordered food it came quickly and was well...

As well as 16 bedrooms (not tested) the bar does agreeable food. A Sunday special and daily specials on the blackboard in addition to the printed variety. The Exmoor ales were well kept. A restaurant is at the back as well as the front bar. Seemed a place for locals to drop in as well as visitors. Dog friendly, easy...

We booked a table in the bar for a family meal on holiday. The food was beautiful with generous portions served. There was a varied menu for both adults and children alike and not a chicken nugget or fish finger in sight for the kids. Their meals were just a smaller portion of the adult meals and really lovely. Puddings...

For one-night stay en route to Cornwall we chose The Crown and it was a breath of fresh air after a very long journey from the north. The village is lovely and situated in glorious countryside on Exmoor. The Crown fits the setting nicely looking every bit the quintessential English country pub. We were looking for a quiet pub for a relaxed three-night stay in Exmoor. The Crown Hotel offered the ideal solution.
