Had a two night stay here earlier this month, making use of an excellent offer including two nights, two breakfast's, seven course tasting menu, wine tasting and a tour or the wine cellar and it was all top notch. Our room was upgraded so we had a lovely view, plenty of space and all the amenities. Perfectly clean and nicely...

Wonderful wonderful wonderful Very special, very unique, the food is an experience in itself and the service from start to finish throughout the stay was flawless, I cannot recommend the hotel enough.

Went for 25th wedding anniversary. Restaurant only had one corporate booking, in another room, and one other couple. Our room was given desultory attention, we had ordered the tasting menu with wine, wine waiter couldn't be bothered to explain why each wine chosen. The courses were not very exciting, I could have cooked the duck better, and they must have...

The place is absolutely stunning, in a traditional English manor style. Each room is beautifully turned out and the surrounding gardens are lovely. We had a lovely walk into Chagford, along old country lanes, for a local cider. The staff are so helpful. And the restaurant is amazing - it is the best food I have eaten in the UK....

So, back at Gidleigh after a Short break in visits, and as always it has to rate as one of the UK's top hotels, hidden away on Dartmoor, old world charm and comfortable lovely bedrooms. The last couple of years has seen huge change, the departure of Michael , to be followed with a new chef, Michael Wigmoor, and this...

We stayed for one night, and had dinner from the A La Carte menu. The hotel is spotlessly clean and run extremely well. All staff were polite and helpful, and always on hand. However they were never overbearing. The perfect balance. The meal was first class. The portions were small, but lots of other 'courses' came so my wife and...

We last stayed here five years ago and were very glad to see that standards are just as high as they were then. From the moment you enter the front door you are greeted with smiles, respect and warmth. All the guests are made to feel we were visiting a wonderful country home. The staff were perfectly trained. Stayed at Gidleigh Park Hotel this weekend (2 nights). The attention of the Gidleigh Park Hotel team was absolutely first class. The Manager (Paul Shanahan) was really friendly, personable and professional. Special mention to Kay (absolutely brilliant supervisor/manager) who we knew from her previous role at Pennyhill Park, and her colleague, K/Catherine (who was helping to make us a range...
