Stumbled across this pub when looking for somewhere to eat. Pleased to say they served good wholesome food and there was a very welcoming atmosphere. Dogs allowed in the bar but not in the restaurant area. Would definitely go back and recommend to anyone visiting South Devon. Great pint too!

After 4 days wild camping on Dartmoor, The Tradesmans Arms was a welcome overnight stop before heading home. Warm and welcoming, excellent food and really good ale. Room was comfortable and clean, with a lovely view over the Lower Combe Valley. I will be returning.

On arrival at The Tradesman's Arms, the first thing you can't help but notice is a nice old pub surrounded by the most outstanding scenery and moors. We were greeted by the owners and shown up to our room. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable and we soon made ourselves at home. Once unpacked we went downstairs and chatted...

We stayed at The Tradesman’s Arms for a couple of nights last week as a base to visit parts of Dartmoor. We booked a double room described as Compact so can’t really complain about it being small. It was clean and comfortable with what looked like a recently refurbished bathroom. Having checked the website there are larger rooms available for...

We were driving in the area and decided to call in for lunch. Although the pub was not busy I waited for some time to get served as no one was at the bar busy talking in the back. I eventually got served and looking at what was on offer we ordered a soup and crusty bread and homemade fish...

Hi Jaqui J Many thanks for your review. I've got to admit that there is nothing worse than having to wait to be served, especially when a pub is not busy. There is no excuse for this. I've had a chat to all of our staff to try and ensure that this does not happen again. With regards to the...

A very comfortable and clean establishment in this small village. Food is excellent and a good range of local ales is available. Owners are very friendly and helpful. Great access to the moors and ideal for the Two Moors Way.

Great little pub, lovely local ales, brilliant views from the garden. Friendly staff and good food. We have enjoyed several evening meals and today, a great lunch of Bacon and Brie baguettes with a generous salad, coleslaw, and tortilla chips. The new owners have maintained the high standards which they have inherited from the previous owners. They have added a...

stayed here while walking the Two Moors Way. It is a little village with hens and dogs in the road so a bit off the main track. There is plentiful parking beside the pub. We had booked two family rooms which had double beds and a single. Nicely furnished and with a good bathroom. There were three of us rather...

We were visiting the area for a family get together and had booked a two night stay here. What an amazing place, as soon as we walked in we were made to feel so welcome, our double room had everything we needed and was clean, modern, tidy with good size shower room. Breakfasts were fab in particular the maple bacon....

Stayed here for one night on our Two Moors walk. The inn is in a very quiet village with views over a valley. A lovely clean room with great views over the valley. Evening meal and breakfast were served in the conservatory with the same beautiful views. Food was very good as was the choice of local ales and very...

Many thanks for your review Kalo_Chorio. The windows have been cleaned! (and are regularly) Unfortunately they do seem to get dirty/dusty very quickly. Glad you enjoyed your stay.
