Fantastic carvery, very friendly and accommodating. Table wasn't quite ready when we arrived as it was very but they kept us informed of when it would be ready and were very polite. Excellent service and food was lovely . Liked the fact you could choose from three sizes of plate...small,medium,large.Beautiful area and overlooking the River Exe.

I selected this because of it's location - about half an hour away from a client I wanted to visit. We arrived in the dark so couldn't appreciate the lovely spot - an old stone bridge, the fast-running river Exe, until the next day. We found all the staff here to be very friendly, helpful and cheerful. Nothing was too...

This Hotel is definitely back to high standards I remember as a young man. Our welcome was very warm and we found our room to be large clean, well presented with a gorgeous view over the River Exe. All rooms have been refurbished and decorated. It was comfortable, clean and warm. We ate in the restaurant that night and with...

Enjoyed an excellent value 3 course meal from the special Lunch Menu. Staff very personable and table had great view over the river. Rounded off the day by visiting Bickleigh Mill just across the bridge.

Midweek lunch was taken as part of a special offer - main and desert for £7. Food was tasty, hot and well cooked. Chocolate pudding with melting middle and cream was delicious. Would recommend for a midweek treat that won't break the bank.

I have been to the fisherman's cot in the past for sunday lunch (a long time ago) and more recently for drinks. On these occasions it has been fine. But last week we went for lunch and it was really poor. Standard pub menu but badly cooked and seriously overpriced. I would really suggest that you avoid this place and...

Known and enjoyed this place for some 30 years now and have to say it's as good if not better than it's ever been. Have never experienced such a genuine and motivated team who are a credit to the management and Marstons.

First visit since my childhood, pub is placed in a beautiful surrounding however we have been so poorly after eating here! We had prawn sandwich each and shared some chips. Menu was expensive and food basic for the price, portions small (probably a good thing else we may of been more sick). Interested to know if anyone else had the...

After being let down by a friend in Exmouth I needed to find somewhere to stay on short notice that was a reasonable price. Well this hotel summed it up beautifully. I was the last person to arrive and it was after closing time at the bar but the young man on duty checked me in a smile and helped...

Stayed here over 30 years ago and just recently revisited . This time for a drink and meal only and found the service very good despite being very busy . The meal was well prepared and presented. Location was just as I remembered and just as stunning. A pleasant return .
