Still waiting on my refund for cancellation due to Covid. Sent out a voucher - even though I declined it. Won't respond to emails or letters. When I call, they just say that the right person isn't in the hotel. Terrible.
Just returned from a 4 day stay at the revere and had a excellent stay. This was a rearranged trip due to Covid restrictions in May and the Hotel obliged by rebooking our dates. The hotel ideally situated in St. Helier close to centre of Town and all amenities a regular bus serves the hotel which stops at the bottom of the road and nearby shops for all your essential supplies. In the hotel the staff are very friendly & will help with all you needs ,The full english sets you up for the day and you can then go about your day knowing your full. the rooms are spacious and are serviced every morning with fresh towels & top up tea, coffee etc. Overall the Hotel is good value for your money and well worth a stay.
When I booked this hotel, first I was not sure about it after reading all the negative reviews but as there had been more positive ones, I eventually did it - what a mistake it was ! I paid £115 / night for 2 without breakfast through Hotel.com which is not cheap for a 3 star hotel. Originally I booked the hotel for May and it cost £88 / night for 2 including breakfast but due to Covid-19, our travel was cancelled and Hotel.com did not give us refund only a voucher to use within 1 year`s time (I don`t think it is right, they should really have given the refund). Anyway, as I had to re-book it, suddenly the price has gone up with £27 / night excluding breakfast so I had to pay additional fee even if on Tripadvisor it was still £88/night via some other sites and even on Hotel.com ! I tried to call them but due to Covid-19, their lines were very busy so I gave up and used the voucher plus paid the extra. Now the hotel. It is a character, boutique hotel with interesting looking bar and restaurant and that`s all. The room was small, dark, old and shabby looking, need of renovation/modernization and incredibly hot, no air con, no fan, we had to ask for a fan after the first night but even with fan we could not sleep and could not wait for our holiday to end it was that boiling ! Furthermore, no fridge to keep your bottles of water you need to drink during the night to avoid dehydration. The kettle was from the 60`s, the old furniture looked scratched, torn and tired, the bathroom in need of modernization as well as the taps were difficult to turn them on, the sink looked tired, the bin falling apart, the bulb for the mirror to light up was burnt out, the blinder by the bathroom`s window was old as well, the linen and duvet/pillow covers were absolutely tired too. I think for £115/night we could have had much better stay and sleep ! If we had paid an extra £30/night, we could have had a luxurious experience at Radisson Blu overlooking the ocean ! Furthermore, the swimming pool was tiny, 2 breast strokes and you would bump into the other end, the surrounding was tacky and there was only 1 sun lounge to share between a family and 2 of us. To sum up, this hotel is overrated and the owners should bring the price down with £30-£40 at least or alternatively they should invest into furniture and facilities including air con, fridge and new kettles. The only positive were the staff, they were kind and attentive,without them this hotel would be just a dungeon. I`m afraid I cannot recommend this expensive sauna.…
My husband and I have been visiting the hotel revere for 20 years now and wouldnt stay in any other hotel in jerse. We love the quirkness of the rooms and the excellent serviceacross the hotel. We have always been well looked after and have recommendeed the hotel to friends who have also loved staying there. I love being in a place where I can sit in front of a roaring log fire with an excellent drink kick my shoes off and curl up on the sofa. uth
We booked hotel to visit but hotel have refused to refund the money even though flights are not going and a lock down being put in place. Customer service was terrible. They wouldn’t answer any questions and then said that directors would have to decide. I asked when this would be and they said they didn’t know. I asked them to call me back by Wednesday and instead they emailed me to say they wouldn’t refund. Absolutely atrocious behaviour in a time like this. £1000 is what they are keeping! Do not book this hotel! Clearly don’t care about customers.
