This beautiful country house in Gorey (a misnomer) Ireland is well worth a stay. We stayed several nights in a room beautifully appointed with antiques which we were encouraged to use. The room was very comfortable with a large bathroom and windows opening to the gardens. We were disappointed that the well known restaurant was not open Mon - Wed...

We stayed at Marlfield for one night. The room ( although old) was clean and the bed very comfortable. The shower is difficult to get in/out off for this who aren't flexible as is the staircase in the event you are staying in the hotel on the upper levels. The staff were professional and friendly. All willing to help. A...

We had the evening meal in the Conservatory Restaurant and it was excellent. Not too busy and no delay between courses. We were aware that there were five courses, so didn't opt for the meat dishes, tho' I would have loved the duck or fillet. Pasta was wonderful, as was asparagus. Shauna was very friendly. The grounds look like they...

My omelet was fresh and tasty. Loved the fresh scones and the homemade marmalade was fantastic. Only fault I had was the shower which had a poor output and the water...

We were blessed with glorious sun so that added to the magic. Afternoon tea was served in a sumptuous stunning sun room that led put onto a terrace....

It is not in my nature to pay this much for a hotel. Usually I seek out comparably small, family-run hotels but I'm happy to forego majesty and historical significance in favour of a lower price. However, Easter in Gorey is a busy time so the difference in price between Marlfield and its more generic neighbours was insignificant. This hotel...

Just wanted to give Marlfield the recognition that it deserves after our amazing wedding in March! There really is something very special about Marlfield! All our guests were raving about the food, the venue, the accommodation. Everything about this house is so cosy and welcoming. The service that we received for the entire weekend was second to none. Our wedding...

The flat breads are so tasty, bread is freshly baked and warm. Salads, fish all superb. The hotel is an old house with lots of...
