Found online and booked a family room last-minute by telephone as we were expecting a late arrival. Mary was very friendly and didn't mind waiting up for us. The room was gorgeous and quite large (single + double bed, see my photos below). The shower room (no bath) was lovely with plenty of hot water for two showers and luxurious...

Clean, comfortable and an informative host. My husband and I enjoyed the plentiful and tasty breakfast. The host was very accommodating and provided us with lots of information on the area. A delightful stay.

Though the room could have been bigger the overall welcome, not to say the wonderful breakfasts more than made up for such a small impediment. We were very comfortable and as on holiday one does not spend long inside- it really didn`t matter. Very friendly welcome- all needs catered for.

Pros: Small clean room and comfortable bed. Tea and coffee making facilities in room. Friendly host. Cons: Glass panel above bedroom door and as guests returned throughout the night the light disturbed me. Had a poor quality sleep. We would not stay again.

After a 30 hour flight from Sydney Australia and then a 3 hour drive from Dublin I was pleased to stop and have a great place like this to stay. I was made yo feel very welcome, given local info and a great breakfast after a long sleep. The breakfast room is sunny and my room was great. Thanks.

We stayed at Philmar House for two nights in April. The room and host exceeded expectations. Great room, great shower, nothing was too much trouble for Mary. Breakfast was massive and there was a great choice. Can't recommend this place enough.

We stayed at philmar house for one night and when we arrived we met our host, who showed us our room which was very bright and tidy. The bathroom was small but the shower was comfortable. Our host gave us a sheet where we could decide what we're going to eat in the morning. Our host gave us some good...

We found this a good, quiet (well back from the not-busy main road), and very clean B&B, reasonably-priced and no money was taken in advance. It was easy to find and ideal for visiting Sligo whilst not being in the busy town. Bedrooms on the ground floor were good for disabled access and for looking-out onto lovely gardens. En-suite facilities...
